My experience in paying my tax bill yesterday was dreadful. When I entered Penfield Town Hall, the Information booth was empty. I waited as I saw a nameplate on the desk inside the Information office with the name of the person to whom I had made my check. An employee eventually surfaced and slammed down her coffee cup on the counter next to me. After I asked where to pay my bill, she told me to "go around the corner." She did not greet me or smile. The employees in the Tax Receiver office were efficient. As I was exiting, I saw three more women waiting for someone to show up at the Information desk. I was about to help when I saw the same employee eventually reappear, this time, with a fresh cup of coffee and piece of cake.
