North Country Storage Barns — Local services in Town of Philadelphia

I've had my coop over a year now, I got it through the rent to own program. I can confidently say this is one of the best investments I've made not just for my birds but in general.

From starting the rent into own program, to financial struggles, to now, North Country Storage Barns has been wonderful to work with. Easy, straight forward site design, no automated systems to puzzle through, just real humans and solid customer service.

As far as the coop itself, I love it. It's perfect for my moderns. Spacious, good ventilation, clearly designed by people who understand what chickens need. The laminate floor makes cleaning very easy. I've added an additional perch and made a few modifications to suit my flock of a dozen or so bantams.

It stayed warm through winter with the help of a ceramic plate heater. Even with sub 0 temps it never dropped below freezing, no frostbite for my babies! During summer the vent and window keep it plenty cool for my birds.

It's bright and comfortable inside, sturdy, and my birds prefer being in the coop to braving the weather. With previous coops, I would open the door and the birds would come pouring out and refuse to go back in until the last minute regardless of the weather. With this one? They take their mornings slow. They peak out, if the sun's out they'll hop out to dust bathe, but frequently return to hang out inside and look out the window. It's clear they like their home.

I can't recommend North Country Storage Barns enough and plan to buy more from them...

North Country Storage Barns have been a pleasure to work with. After designing a storage building on the website I decided to visit the Philadelphia location. The staff were very friendly and professional. They quickly answered my questions and walked me through the design. After visiting I received calls to verify the building and some changes that needed to be made. I ordered site prep and delivery. The site prep person is remarkable. He operates the Bobcat like a musical instrument. When he completed the site I asked about putting gravel in my driveway. I called the office and they gave me a very good quote, so that work was completed also. Before delivery I was contacted for information about the site and access. I sent photos and video and asked about the mule. The day of delivery the driver called and told me he had the mule loaded and ready. When he arrived he offloaded at the road and did a fantastic dance with the mule to place the barn. The professional work and talent that the site prep and delivery people displayed was amazing. Its so refreshing to deal with a company with so many talented and friendly workers. The barn was built to spec and all doors and windows were perfect after set-up. I will be doing future business and referring others to this company in the future. I am so glad that I chose North Country...

We have now purchased three structures from NCSB and won’t hesitate to call them again when we need another. The first was a three stall garage with full finished attic which was built in a week by an incredible team and has been perfect for the last three years. The second was a prebuilt chicken coop to replace our converted wood storage shelter. The old coop was rat infested due to the dirt floor and difficult to keep predators out of, impossible to keep clean, and constantly needing repairs. The new one is fantastic, way better than expected and the chickens love their new home! Bonus - no more rats!!! Finally, we needed a pavilion to cover part of a deck and an outdoor kitchen. We would have preferred to have NCSB build one from scratch but just didn’t have time to wait for an opening on their schedule so instead we ordered a kit one and had NCBS do the construction. It exceeded our expectations by far! In closing a special shout out to Edwin for his patience and professionalism and massive thanks to all the guys from each crew who came out to work with us, extremely talented and professional work and a pleasure to see several young guys putting in hard work and long hours while remaining positive.
