Nesemann's Diamond Center — Local services in Town of Plymouth

1.) When I walked into Nesemann's Diamond Center, the employee Alex was short and rude to me. It felt based off his body language and comments, I was not good enough to be in his store.

2.) I got my engagement ring and two wedding bands appraised by Alex. He said my ring was appraised at $6,000. Even though my Husband paid $6,000 for JUST my engagement ring, he thought the center diamond in my engagement ring was only 3/4 carat when it was 1.0. He was off by $9,785 according to my Statement of Value .

3.) Alex told me my husband paid over $500-$700 more then the ring was worth...How can you trust or believe someone who was off by $9,785?

4.) After he gave me original appraisal document, I sent him my original appraisal. He shortly sent a new one with the changes that it should have been (following my original document). He then later explained that my carat is more rare and has a higher dollar amount. It seemed to me that he could not give a straight answer. He would not have updated the appraisal statement if I did not question him. It just seemed kind of suspicious.

I would say they don't know what they are doing. Sad to say but I will have to go to other facilities to get an appraisal. Please do not...

I was trying to find a birthday gift for my girlfriend and the ideas I was thinking of, didn't feel right. I started thinking jewelry and a jeweler that is local instead of driving to Kiel or Sheboygan. I came across Nesemann in my search, so I thought I'd stop in. Alex approached me at the counter asking if I needed any help and I wasn't sure what I was looking for. When He brought the earring out, I wanted to do the purchase right there, but also wanted to make sure it wasn't going to be too much for a birthday gift of 5 months. I went back a couple days later and bought them. The girlfriend was so surprised, and her reaction was well worth it!

Alex was a great help and was not at all your typical salemans. He listened to what I had to say and bounced ideas off him and he would bounce them back. This was probably one of the best experiences in jewelry store I've had! No pressure to buy from him and he wasn't lurking about waiting for me to make a decision. Alex is the BEST! I am so glad I went to Nesemann’s during my search for an engagement ring because Alex was extremely helpful and honest about what I was looking at. To be honest I didn’t really know what exactly I wanted or even much about diamonds or rings in general and other jewelry stores I went to prior were not helpful and just wanted to sell me anything. Nesemann’s was completely different. Alex knows his stuff and explained what I was looking at, how to get the most bang for my buck and worked with me to pick out and design the exact ring I was looking for.
