Beautiful surroundings but they unfortunately are Kallinkites. A group led by Archbishop Kallinikos of Greece who is a heretic. Kallinikos won't show any evidence of the Cyprianites repenting when he absorbed them into his synod in 2014 and if you ask him he will get angry. They claim to be Florenites but Chrysostomos of Florina left behind ZERO Bishops and told his people to go to the Matthewites who are the real GOC of Greece. Akakios Papas reformed the Florenites in the middle of the night with no witnesses and after being deposed by Bishop Matthew he was ordained as a Bishop by the New Calendarist Romanian Theophilus who later denied taking part in the ordination. They claim that they were regularlized by ROCOR but ROCOR had no business on foreign soil to get involved with this issue and Seraphim of Chicago the ROCOR Bishop himself who ordained Akakios Papas with Theophil later regretted the whole ordeal and his letter is online. Their whole history is spurious. Look into the Genuine Orthodox Church under Archbishop Kyrikos of Athens. St. Matthew the New Confessor never once violated his confession of faith whereas Chrysostomos of Florina from 1937-1950 claimed that we were just a movement and that the New Calendarists were the "Official" church. These people will try to fool you with miracles as if that's the main reason why we join a church. Miracles happen but that's not the end all be all. John Maximovitch helped further the abomination known as the Western Rite which is a syncretist organization and had many other errors. These people in Cobbleskill will use guilt tactics on you if you don't accept his canonization as a Saint by telling you that you will have to answer to him and that you are making war on the Saints. They push these Pseudo Elders and Contemporaries on you and over exaggerate their status leaving you little room to concentrate on the Church Fathers. The Clergy can't be told what to do and they share private confession information with other clergy. I have first hand knowledge of this fact. They belittle their monks expecting blind obedience pretending that this is a blanket leadership style but when we read about certain Abbots being hard on their Novices or Monks that doesn't pertain to everyone in every place. As nice of a time as you may have here and enjoyment of Trapeza at the end of the day they are still Kallinikites. Kallinikos joined a Religious Legal Entity in Greece which is a violation of the confession of faith because in order to do so you have to agree that the New Calendarists are the "Official" church in order to get benefits. The True Orthodox of Greece are already protected without having to make such a compromise. The Florinites are Uniates, and they themselves proclaimed themselves to be a parasynagogy of the state church. The main tennant of the Florinite ecclesiology was to not form a parallel synod, something they themselves didn't adhere too having sought uncannonical ordinations from ROCOR an illegitimate synod in the US that ordained for Greece. ie.. a synod outside its jurisdiction ordaining for another foreign jurisdiction! and from Bishops that openly professed that the state church possessed grace. Simply if you seek an unchanged and uncompromised GOC of Greece or Cyprus it all points to the Matthewite Synod. At the time many were fooled by the thought that the Russians were a real Orthodox confessing Synod, but history showed otherwise and the evidence surfaced over the years to understand their ecclesiological position. These people also contastly violate their 2002 Enyclical by giving communion to the New Calendarists. One last thing, Kallinikos forbid his clergy from warning against the Vaxx. This is a non-canonical “Orthodox” church. They are a part of a schismatic group called the Genuine Orthodox Church that split off because of a calendar issue. They have 5 parishes and 2 monasteries in America, and this is one of them.

I am not saying anything of their faith, as I am not one in a place to judge. But, I don’t like how misleading their name is, their website, and their title. You would never know if you didn’t dig into their website or if you weren’t well read on the subject.

The only reason I found this out is because their website has a metropolitan (head bishop) I hadn’t heard of, and once I googled it, I found they aren’t in communion with literally any other Orthodox churches, not even other Schismatic...

This monastery is blessed with the grace of the Holy Spirit! I am a Greek Orthodox Christian in the Greek Orthodox Church of America. I don't care what anyone says these monks and this monastery is sealed with the Holy Spirit. New Calendar old Calendar, politics no politics I don't care God the Holy Spirit guides these monastics in ways us laymen will not understand. Maybe in our unworthiness we can feel a dose of the grace comfort and joy God gives these struggles. Woe to the slanders!
