Captain Shelly with Escape Excursions was amazing! We originally booked a Kayak tour of Devil’s Island, then decided we wanted to camp on another island beforehand, and she was incredibly helpful and accommodating, and helped us make it happen. When I called prior to the trip she helped me to plan things out, gave advice on the weather and additional information that helped us in preparation for camping. We were dropped off on Stockton island by Captain Scott, and three days later Captain Shelly was there at the dock to pick us up and took us to Devil’s Island. She was very friendly, told us about the islands, personal experiences, and was just very friendly and personable. While we were checking out the caves on Devil’s Island, she kept close to us on the boat but never crowded us, and I was so happy to find when we got back on her ship that she had taken pictures of our exploring! I’m always the photographer so I’m rarely in our family trip photos so it was so nice to have some of all of us! This trip was absolutely worth every penny, and Captain Shelly and Escape Excursions have lifetime customers in my family the next time we come back to Lake Superior. Thank you so much,...

Captain Shelly was a phenomenal guide! I will start by saying I would recommend her and Escape Excursions to anyone looking for the BEST way to see the Apostle Islands. We felt her price was reasonable and worth it. For our trip we had planned to kayak the sea caves on Devils Island and then a short hike on Raspberry Island. The Sea Caves were by far the highlight. The weather was looking iffy later in the day so Captain Shelley made sure we were able to do all the things we wanted and accommodate everything for us to make the trip memorable. She was responsive and easy to get in contact with, always staying in touch with us leading up to the day of our trip. We had planned our excursion as part of a cross country road trip we were making. Captain Shelly gave us other recommendations on what to do in the Bayfield area and on Madeline Island, we ended up staying TWO more days in the Apostle Islands we loved it so much! Captain Shelly and First Mate Coty were instrumental in make this family excursion all about fun, laughter and joy. They included all of us in a fun filled day. I had never been in a kayak before and I was very comfortable, and stable. Paddling was easy for me and I am in my 60s. My Younger grand children were included as well. They got to get out on the water too. Devil’s Island was truly amazing, and magical. All the sea caves are enchanting. Captain Shelly and Coty became part of our family that day. Fun loving, energetic, entertaining. She watched over us like a mother hen in the water, so she took our safety very seriously. Thank you so much for the memories, smiles and laughter.
