Being just 1/2 mile from my house, it is one of the best "bang for your buck" mountains there are. Trail is about 9/10th mile up. It is tough right off the bat, and climbs 900 feet to summit. Just 50 yards past trailhead, you choose to go right or straight. 90 % go to the right. Follow this trail up. It splits a few times, but comes back together, or still gets you to the top. This is the more scenic, and harder route. Going straight has fewer big rocks and fewer steep areas, but can be much more wet at times. At the top, if you go back the route to the "south", where most people come up, it can get confusing. If you come up the rocky route to the right on way up, just go over top, and down big rock on left, and down. A little steep at first, but the trail is easier to descend and follow on this side.
