This is our third visit to this bar/restaurant. Minnesota doesn’t allow restaurants to open for dine-in service so we continue to travel to Wisconsin. Today we both ordered the cordon blu sandwich special. The sandwich and fries were served hot. (I always like to add this as warm, fresh food is important to us.) The sandwich was fair, I am not certain the pretzel bun was a good choice, also seasoning the chicken or adding a sauce to the sandwich would be recommended as it was a bit bland. The French fries were tasty and well seasoned. The Spotted Cow tap beer must be a good seller, it was fresh and as expected. The Lager on the other hand was old. The menu offers a nice variety of burger options/toppings. We have ordered burgers in the past, they were fresh and flavorful, although the size of the burger is small in relation to the price. The staff is friendly and attentive. Bass Lake Cheese Factory is a comfortable bar/restaurant that we enjoy. Update: Returned on a Saturday night with Minnesota still under COVID Restrictions. Every table was busy with three young ladies running trying to keep up. I highly recommend the flatbread (pictured). Lots of chicken, really good spicy flavor and a super crispy crust. We also had the Rueben, The sauerkraut could have had more flavor, it was mild and not the “sour” kraut I like on a Reuben. It was ok.

This review is for the cheese shop section. I did not go to the restaurant. My husband and I wanted to try a new shop a couple days ago and drove an hour to this place based on the good reviews. As you can see the cheese is molded. These pictures were taken the same day we got home from the shop and unfortunately I did not notice it until then. I did notice that none of the cheeses had dates on them, but I guess I trusted that they were not expired and we usually eat them within weeks of buying them. They are also much pricier than their competitors. Also just a side note, but not a big deal, they do not greet you when you walk in, although they were not working with other customers. Just found that they weren’t as friendly as the other cheese shops not too far from them. I had to throw the cheese away since I cannot return it. Not worth the drive and won’t return again.

This place was recommended to me by a family member of mine due to my love for cheese, so today I made the trip out to Bass Lake Cheese Factory to give it a try. Firstly, the service was great. The lady that brought our drinks and food out to us was awesome. However, the cheese and the food in general was lacking immensely for it coming from a cheese factory. I decided to try both the deep fried cheesecurds and the regular cheesecurds. The deep fried ones were OKAY, but were not impressionable. The "fresh" cheesecurds were anything but that, and quite expensive for what little you get. The packaging on all of the cheeses did not include a "Packaged On" date or a "Sell By" date, and the cheesecurds were yellowed and did not squeak. I really wanted to like this place, but it leaves a lot to be desired.

I can't say enough about the fantastic experience I had at the Bass Lake Cheese Factory Restaurant! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and impeccable service that set the tone for a memorable dining experience.

Ambiance: The restaurant's rustic charm and cozy atmosphere immediately put me at ease. The combination of wooden decor, warm lighting, and the delightful aroma of cheese in the air created a welcoming and comfortable environment.

Cuisine: The star of the show, of course, is the cheese! The menu boasts a delectable array of cheese-centric dishes that cater to every palate. From classic cheese platters to innovative cheese-infused entrees, each bite was a burst of flavor. The cheese curds, in particular, were a delightful and addictive treat.

Service: The staff's attentiveness was truly commendable. Our server was not only knowledgeable about the menu but also passionate about the products and their origins. They offered excellent recommendations and took the time to answer our questions. It's evident that they take great pride in their work, ensuring that every guest has a remarkable experience.

Farm-to-Table Concept: The farm-to-table concept shines through at Bass Lake Cheese Factory Restaurant. The use of locally sourced ingredients, including their exceptional cheeses, adds an extra layer of authenticity to the dining experience. It's clear that sustainability and quality are top priorities.

Cheese Shop: Before leaving, I couldn't resist visiting the cheese shop. It's a cheese lover's paradise, featuring an impressive selection of artisanal cheeses and gourmet products. I left with a few cheese varieties and unique souvenirs to savor the experience at home.

Conclusion: In summary, my visit to the Bass Lake Cheese Factory Restaurant was nothing short of extraordinary. The combination of exceptional cuisine, a charming atmosphere, and top-notch service made it a dining experience I won't soon forget. Whether you're a local looking for a delightful meal or a traveler seeking a taste of Wisconsin's cheese heritage, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. Thank you for an unforgettable...

Don't try somewhere else first! This should be your first and last stop!

In St. Paul, MN for a week of school and couple of days of relaxation and trip to WI to purchase cheese. In the morning, I found Bass Lake Cheese Factory, 40 minutes from our hotel! Yay! (Someone ahem who shall remain nameless, said it was too far) Ended up in Stillwater, then Hudson, then we're not sure where. Googled and found a shop (not Bass Lake) in Hudson . . . Back to Hudson. Shop had high dollar "fufu" cheeses with foreign names that we did not recognize. Googled Bass Lake again around 4:00 p.m. It's been a day trip of hunting for cheese from the "perfect place." Passed through Hudson, yet again, and turned on the irritating navigator lady on the phone . . . Finally off to Bass Lake Cheese Factory!

Arrived at Bass Lake Cheese Factory. SO WELL WORTH THE 3 HOUR DRIVE (that could have been 40 minutes). Exactly what we were looking for! Friendly folks, nice rustic country shop, deli, bar, and FABULOUS CHEESE! Their selection is just right! Bought 4 different kinds in small packages for our stay in St. Paul, and planning to return over the weekend to have a large selection shipped home to Arizona. Cheese and crackers for dinner last night. Smooth, creamy, and luscious! Sharp cheddar that melts that melts in your mouth, farmer's cheese to die for, and merlot cheese with the perfect backdrop of the wine flavor. We will be trying our juusto liepa this evening. I very highly recommend this lovely...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bass Lake Cheese Factory, and it was nothing short of a delightful culinary experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the warm and inviting atmosphere of this cheese haven.

Penny and Scott, the owners and true cheese masters, have crafted a menu that caters to cheese enthusiasts and food lovers alike. Their passion for cheese shines through in every dish. I highly recommend trying their cheese platter; it's a flavorful journey through a variety of artisanal cheeses that will leave your taste buds dancing with joy.

But it's not just about the cheese; the service here is genuinely the best I've encountered in the Midwest. The staff is attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. They're more than happy to help you navigate the world of cheese and suggest perfect pairings.

The ambiance is cozy and welcoming, making it an ideal spot for a romantic dinner or a casual get-together with friends. And don't forget to visit their cheese shop before you leave – you'll want to take some of their delectable cheeses home with you.

In summary, if you're a cheese lover, Bass Lake Cheese Factory is a must-visit. It's a place where cheese is celebrated, service is top-notch, and your taste buds will thank you for the experience. Penny and Scott have truly created a cheese paradise in...
