I have debated in writing a review for the past year or so until finally decided to write one. I don't want to sound like a "sore loser" or a "whiner/complainer" but I have been going to this casino for years, even when it was the little building back in 1990 and I'm not kidding when I say this, I have walked out $$ ahead only 1 time and it was like I was close to being $200 ahead from what I spent. I finally got the nerve up to ask for the floor supervisor last Saturday while playing the Game King "Diamond Mine" slot machine, which is the type of machine I play all the time (except for a time when I can't get on one), anyhow I asked him what was the percentage of payouts for the slots and his reply was, "I have no clue, I'm just the floor supervisor. I'm not a tech." I then asked him for a "ballpark" percentage of payout and again he replied, "I have no clue. I'm not a tech." I won't say how many hundreds I put into the machine the past ? Saturdays in a row but usually I am able to win the "5 of any kind fruit" which pays $45, yes $45, and for 4 weeks straight I never even hit them 1 time, let alone the $225 bonus. I am questioning whether to return there or not.One thing I do like is it is the closest casino within driving distance to me and Phyllis the floor supervisor is just awesome, in fact she was the reason why I've been contemplating whether to write a review or not so Phyllis, please don't take this personal because you are the best and a very kindhearted and very professional at your job...kudos to you!! I also keep hearing the phrase, "Say it forget it. Write it regret it."in my mind and some will think I made an a** out of myself for writing this, but something's gotta change there to even make it worth my time, effort, and cash to continue...
Read moreOne night stay in Jacuzzi Suite in September 2022. Came out to $102 after 20% discount for AAA and player’s club - a reasonable rate I thought. Room was dated, chairs uncomfortable, jacuzzi dated but very relaxing. Pool and hot tub closed, almost didn’t stay here because of that. Generous welcome back and hotel promotional packages. Got $15 in free play altogether and $2 off $7 order or more at the restaurant. Won a few bucks on video poker and had a little fun there. Had a few of my favorite sodas at the beverage dispenser on the gaming floor - Cherry Pepsi and Mountain Dew. What really stood out was the restaurant. Ordered a Club Sandwich with Fries with onions, green peppers, and olives, hold the tomatoes. Cook forgot to hold the tomatoes, and they were out of turkey, but they made it right and tasted really good nonetheless. Restaurant staff was very nice and friendly, price was reasonable, service was excellent! 5 stars for the restaurant! Ingredients were fresh and very high quality and I was very satisfied with my meal! When I checked in, the bald gentleman at the hotel front desk was not very friendly or welcoming and needs to work on his customer service skills. He did get better though after I checked in. Location not ideal, 10 miles east of Ashland in the middle of nowhere and a bit of a drive to Bayfield and the Apostle Islands, but doable. Player’s Club staff friendly and helpful. Need bigger towels for rooms. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. 4/5 stars. Enjoyed my stay. It was only an overnight stay but was very relaxing and seemed like I was there for days. Appreciate the no...
Read moreArrived at 4;20 PM and were told we could not check in yet because the room wasnt ready yet, housekeeping did not have towels in room yet Came back at 5:10 and were able to get in room. The room was awful! Carpet was full of stains and cigarette burns.Looked like there was mold growing in the corners. There were no fridge or microwave in any of our rooms.(Forgot to mention we were there for a family wedding and had many rooms reserved for all the relatives. Traveled 4 hours to get there) My daughter and son in law reserved a non-smoking room because they have a 3 month old baby, when they arrived were told they didnt get a non-smoking room. They were told to go check it out to see if they wanted to stay because they had no other rooms open. The room was worse than ours!!! My daughter called around and found a non-smoking room for 40 dollars more a night in Ashland. My parents arrived the next day and when they arrived were told they had no room reserved for them and had no openings. Finaly a half hour later they found their reservation. The staff the first day were rude and not very helpful. When we asked for the manager we were told he was not there and didnt know how to get hold of him, The staff the next day was somewhat better, but not much. I would not recommend this...
