Chittning Pond — Local services in Town of Sangerfield

Great little place to take children fishing. Good for a kayak, canoe, or small rowboat - there's a little stone-paved walk-up launch. Some very nice mowed walking trails along the floodwall to the right of the stone parking area and then into the trees a short ways. A nice guy with a big beard gave me a card for his nearby bait shop... Next time I'll bring my dinghy and some...

So many underwater weeds it was hard to fish or paddle my kayak. The pond was surprisingly crowded for the size but it was a beautiful CNY weekend. This pond will be beautiful to paddle in the fall as it is surrounded by trees. The parking area has plenty of spots.

Remember please carry out your garbage! Found several empty beer cans in the pond! Keep these wild...

Extremely busy, fished here for a few hours using worms and lures from the shore and did not get a single bite. Definitely need some sort of rowboat to even have a chance at catching anything.
