Where do I start? I have spent over $4,000 there in the past 4 months and I have nothing but junk to show for it. Worst purchase ever. first I ordered a kitchen table and chairs from them. The one they had in the store was sold. It had a large "SOLD" sign on it so I asked them to order me one. They agreed. They wrote down the price on a business card and said they would order my table and call me when it arrived and it should be about 3-4 weeks. I was fine with waiting because the floor model, the one that was "sold," had a large crack in the wood on the side of the table. I wouldn't have wanted that table anyways. I was suprised when in about 1 week or two they called to say my table and chairs were ready to be delivered. Much faster than I had anticipated. They were setting up payment and delivery by phone and thank goodness I had the price he quoted me still written on the business card because what they wanted to charge me for the table had almost doubled. They agreed to "honor the price they told me just a week or two earlier." The table and chairs arrive and guess what....it's not a newly ordered table. It's the table from the floor with the large crack in it. Thanks a lot SAVE ON. They agree to order me a new one but allow me to keep this one until the new one arrives.
Months pass....new table comes, it too is damaged when they take it out of the box so they call and tell me it will be longer, longer, longer..... I wonder if I will ever get my table. Finally, December 2012 they deliver my new table and pick up the cracked table. I get home, take one look at the table and flip. The table is nowhere near the same table as the one they took back. They said in the months since they reordered, Ashley had changed the design of the tile inlay on the table and now it looks different. I would rather have my cracked table back because at least it matched my house but at least give me money off for damaged goods....but they aren't sure they can do that. The table is cracked all the way through on one side. The wood is split. It was delivered that way. It left their showrom that way. I am being treated like a customer who complains too much. Who wouldn't complain about being sold damaged goods and then not getting a proper and exact replacement?
In the meantime, I purchased a $3200 Catnapper couch, chair, loveseat from their Plover store (while I thought they were taking care of the table situation for me-about a month into the saga). It has only been 2 months since the purchase and already the recliner has lost a button leaving a hole where the button used to be. The one seat of the loveseat sits crooked. It sat goofy in the store but the saleswoman assured me it was just because the cushions were so fluffy and they would eventually squish down and be of equal height. Well, they have not. I did purchase their "warranty." I am hoping it will be of some assistance but I am not holding my breath there either. You would think that when you spend that kind of money on furniture...especially furniture that is only 3-4 months old that it would stand up.
I will take my business elsewhere next time. I encourage you to do the same if you are looking for a quality piece of furniture that will stand up and for salesmen who will stand behind their product. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had with a furniture store. I am hoping the owner of the store can help remedy the situation but I have yet to hear from...
Read moreWhat started out as a good experience it didn't end up that way. We spent over $7000 on furniture the delivery guys delivered the couches, set it down & moved it back in place. When my husband got down on the floor to plug something in he noticed a big bolt in the bottom of the couch that had put a hole in our flooring of our new house we had just built! He took a picture of the hole & the bolt (we never moved the couch after it was delivered) the bolt did not seem to serve any purpose whatsoever. We talked to our salesman Ron who said he would talk to the owner. After being in limbo for quite some time my husband gets ahold of him & he says they have talked to their lawyers & were reaching out to the manufacturer. Didn't hear anything so my husband stopped in the store to talk to our salesman who was there but a woman came out of the office & says we are not going to do anything for you! You shouldn't have moved the couch. We NEVER moved the couch but she was extremely rude! For one thing if we were to move the furniture we would pick it up not drag it. Our salesman was given a picture of this bolt & was going to talk to the manufacturer but he never even had the decency to tell us what the manufacturer said. That's pretty disappointing especially since I purposely bought local to support...
Read moreRapids Home Furniture is easy to find south on hwy 13. It is a large store on the right and is a slice of heaven for the interior designer. Huge selection of living room, bedroom and kitchen. So many styles to choose from you may want to visit before you envision what your home will look like. We bought a couch from them and still love it! The staff is very knowledgeable. Recently went looking for a mattress. So many choices! We didn't know where to begin. Staff broke down the differences in the materials, double sided flippable versus a "static" mattress, firm, plush and pillow top.Comes with the box spring and a warranty. They threw in a mattress pad to boot! I asked what if I didnt like what I chose and I was told they would work with me. Love this store and the staff! Ps one thing to mention a mattress may need to be walked and bounced on to bring it to the soft...
