Ordered Grass Valley Edius yesterday at 10AM. Product is a software download. In MOST cases software purchases by download are available immediately...that is when dealing with organized companies. Most are automated. Pay and download immateriality. After an hour no download available. The website says, "The link of this software download is generated by the brand manufacturer. Please allow processing time usually within 24 hours."
Withing 24 hours is a pretty big window, 1 hour? 5 hours? it's now over 22 hours and no download.
This doesn't seem very complicated. To my view Markertek hasn't automated their digital delivery system and worse doesn't have digital stock on hand, they're selling a license they don't have possession of. If they had possession of the product I would have had my software yesterday.
Every retail business dreams of selling stock they don't own, no costly inventory.
Markertek is living that dream, just what are they doing for their slice of the pie?

   Read moreI have bought various supplies from Markertek for years--mainly cables for audio and video (coax, specialized cables, XLR connectors, etc.). Recently I made an order and 1 XLR connector was missing from the shippment. Oh well, mistakes happen.
I reached out about the missing item and received a reply from a human (Michael) within a day. He actually asked if the item was time sensitive. Funny thing is--it was. I was leaving for a trip in 2 days and needed to make an extra XLR to TRS cable. I told him that there was some time sensitivity but it wasn't a big deal (it wasn't). Well he shipped it next day air!
Look, it would not have been a big deal to ship it ground. They are in UPS zone 1 or 2 so it might have arrived on time by ground. Also this wasn't a big order--maybe $60 in total and the Neutrik connector was maybe $6? But he shipped it next day air anyway.
That kind of service makes you a life long customer and is worth...

I'm paying $500 to ship a $900 product, which is unbelievable.
I needed to change the billing address (not the shipping address), but they ended up changing both -- and now are charging me more for the change.
They also didn't alert me that the product was on backorder.
When I called, I was told that I needed to call the shipping company to change the delivery address. Even though it's their freight company, they still put the work on the customer, even though they're the ones that made the mistake.
The Markertek rep said he'd make notes in their system. A few weeks later, Markertek calls back to ask if I want to change the delivery address.
When I followed up further, the CSR tried to blame me for the issues rather than acknowledge prior issues.
I hope the Company can take this...
