Henning Cheese — Local services in Town of Schleswig

I am an Illinois/Wisconsin girl born and raised...which as you probably guessed it I LOVE Cheese!! I no longer live up north do to joining the military so in order to get northern cheese I have to purchase it at the store or go online and order it. I was a little hesitant to order from all the cheese websites, but I read about Henning and they seemed like a good brand of cheese to go with. I placed and order and waited for my cheese curds and Colby cheese to arrive. I started to get a little worried when I noticed my cheese was going to be in the mail for 5 days so I emailed the company. They assured me the cheese would be in great condition. Side trip stop on our daycation. My brother in-law saw it on Mad Dog and Merrill Show. Neat clean. Big variety of cheese. We missed a lot of the cheese making. They were clraningbyhe factory. We were there about 10:30. So get there a little easier if you want to see that. We did see cheese being pressed into molds.The cheese making museum is very nice and informative. I bought 5 blocks of various white cheeses. My sister's bought even more. We were back in the van and.....Went back in for bag of fresh cheese curds. They were squeaky delicious. We were not too many miles down the road and that bag was empty. Not that far from home. I would definitely drive up here again to buy cheese. There are many good places to get cheese near Manitowoc. Hennings is one of my favorites. A friendly place to visit. They have some cool old cheese making equipment in their small museum. But let's get to the cheese! They have a nice variety of cheeses for everyone's taste. My personal favorites are the 6 year and 8 year old extra sharp cheddar. You cannot visit Wisconsin without trying cheese curds, those squeaky little nuggets of cheesy goodness are made daily. Anyone knows that curds are good anytime.
