Catskill Getaways Vacation Rentals — Local services in Town of Shandaken

I have stayed here twice now, but in a different cottage each time. I wish I had more pictures of the interiors to show because I really enjoyed both spaces. They were cozy and well-equipped. In addition, the property is well-maintained and well-located because it’s close to all my favorite hikes, breweries, and restaurants. There is an unlimited supply of firewood, you get a good view of the mountain next door from the yard by the fire pit, and in the summer you get to pick your own veggies and herbs from the garden to eat. James actually left me and my group fresh cucumbers every morning. He is friendly, knowledgeable about the area, and very accommodating. In the winter, he offered to let my partner and I use the screened in studio on the back of the main house on a day with bad weather so we could feel like we were outside without actually having to be in the rain. Our weekend at the Zen Cottage could not have been more perfect. The cottage was quaint, cozy and had all the amenities we needed. James & Alma we’re both responsive, helpful and accommodating hosts. The town of Phoenicia was less than 5 minutes away where there were some small local stores and a great pizza place, Brios. There were a few local food markets and a larger grocery store all within 10 minutes. If you like to hike, the Zen Cottage was an ideal place to access many trailheads. We hiked Slide Mtn, Codfish Point, Giant Ledge/Panther Mtn and the Ashokan Railtrail. We can’t wait to go back soon for another amazing...

An absolute gem of a BnB! Book it now if you’re looking for reviews as I can see this place being reserved nonstop. First of all, James was incredibly accommodating as we were arriving around the time of a snowstorm, he allowed us to check in early and had the place ready to go for us. He was very responsive and was always willing to help. The BnB itself is spotless and the perfect size for a couple (we also brought our dog).
