This company operates a fraudulent scheme to repair discontinued automotive electronics which are critical to vehicle operation. When challenged by consumers who have been defrauded, they refund prepaid fees that they have taken for diagnosis and repair services. As an retired automotive engineer, I recognized the fraud based upon their diagnosis report and confirmed it when they returned my device. Prior to dispatching the device to G7, I had installed tamper tape inside the unit to be able to confirm whether any work had been completed. When the unit was returned, the tamper tape was still intact, which would not have been possible had they done the hardware repair that they had claimed. The unit had not even been opened. Even if the tamper tape had been broken, it was clear from the moisture proof conformal coating that covers the circuit board was undisturbed under visual and UV inspection. This would be impossible had they made a hardware repair as they had claimed. When challenged, they claimed it was a communications mistake and that the unit was unrepairable due to the failure of the processor unit. The processor was fully operational. Under threat of publicity, G7 refunded my fee. I eventually repaired the device myself. The repair required the replacement of a resistor at a cost of under a penny. The work took less than one hour after the schematics were obtained. There are plenty of reports similar to mine on vehicle enthusiast sites and on the BBB portal. Buyer beware. This company may do some credible work, but they are also engaging in fraud and their claim of a communications error is preposterous. Photos show the tamper tape and undisturbed moisture proof coating and the defective component that I replaced. ADDENDUM: I keep an eye on these reviews and it seems that G7 Computers is still up to its fraudulent tricks 5 months after my post. I have therefore sent a complaint to the office of the New York State Attorney General with a copy of my report and illustrations as well as a copy of the letter I received from G7. I urge others who have experienced the same fraud to do likewise. This company needs to clean up its act.

Before you read my review, look at my profile. All of my reviews are 5 stars. I never give anyone below 5 stars, let alone 1 star. But this place fully deserves it. Be very careful doing business with them. Long story short: Did not even open up my module, took a week of my time, gave me significant stress and anxiety. I got a refund from them, yes, but what good is that? The time they took from me I will never get back. I needed a BMW Body Domain Controller repaired. I asked their representative if that is something they can do. I knew exactly what was wrong with it—it had leftover residue from isopropyl alcohol that was causing problems. They said yes. I shipped my module to them. I get it back a week later and…nothing changed. All they had to do at the very least was clean the residue. Not even that. They did end up refunding me. However, they wasted a week of my time where I was stressed and scrambling without a car. If they had just been honest and said they cannot/do not want to work on my module, that would have been great. Refer to the email they sent me. They say its a software problem. However, I am well versed in BMW coding via their E-Sys software, and I updated the software 3 different times. No issue there. It was purely hardware due to isopropyl alcohol residue. They did not bother to even touch the module. I will not make any judgements on their business or call them by any bad names. I am just stating what happened from an objective point of view. They took a week of my time and gave me a lot of stress and anxiety. And quite frankly, they did not speak the truth when they said it was a software problem, so they also lied.

I sent in the tcm for my Audi that had been submerged due to water coming in through the cabin air filter there were damaged connector pins that were not repaired as well as the fact that the case was not opened they sent it back after brushing some dirt off the connector pins and said it was a hardware failure I effectively paid 275 for someone to brush some dirt off of the pins and they didn't even do that properly I tried to contact them and like other people have stated they are impossible to get a hold of. edited here* they did issue a refund half an hour after I left this review and I just figured out how to get pictures uploaded so ill let them speak for themselves these were taken after their repair service shipped my tcm back to me

These are honest people who perform a valuable service that is badly needed in this age of high-priced dealer upsells to higher and over-priced services and parts. My Audi transmission was always slipping if I applied any power at all to it, so I was limited to short trips on city streets. If I tried to use a freeway, the car would go into limp mode and over-rev the engine if I was on the freeway. To fix this I had to pull over to the far right lane of the freeway, stop the car and the engine, restart the engine, and try to get back into traffic. I was very stressed every time I needed to use the freeway, always trying to give as little power as possible to the engine so the transmission would not slip. I could not back up unless the ground was really flat. First I bought a used transmission, but the car would not move. The dealer told me I would need to either buy a new transmission for $6000 or I could try to program the newer mechatronics with a 50% chance of success for $500 to $650 to start and go from there. Instead, I had my old mechatronics unit placed in the newer transmission. The car could be driven, but just as before, with frequent slipping, limp mode, and needing to stop the car to take the car out of limp mode. Clearly, the problem was not the quality or age of the transmission. Instead of paying the dealer $6000 for a new transmission, or paying the dealer $500 to start, possibly in vain to attempt to program the newer mechatronics, I sent just the electronics to G7 Computers. They found a software flaw and repaired it and returned the electronics to me. In less than a week the repaired unit was returned to me and ready to be assembled to the valve body and installed in the vehicle. To be fair, I also changed the solenoid valves during this time. When the transmission was put back together, everything worked as it should! No more limp mode, no more failure to be able to back up, no more hard shifting! I was elated and to this day I am delighted that I had the opportunity to work with G7 Computers. I still can hardly believe that this is the same car that was giving me headaches just to drive it on the freeway a few months ago. Now I drive 50 miles a day on the freeways taking my son to and from school. I sit back with the car in cruise control and relaxedly go to and from his school. Before this, I could never use cruise control on this trip because the transmission could not take the extra power needed to go up small elevations. I unconditionally recommend this company in strongest terms to anyone who has a problem...

I sent my ECM there to have it repaired. I overnighted it so it would be there the following day costed me $20 USPS it was a Tuesday delete arrive the following day Wednesday. When I followed the package tracker UPS responded there was no one there to receive the package therefore they took into a holding facility and tried for redelivery Friday when finally USPS stated there was a single man that received the package and delivery was made. I try to text them to Saturday checking status of my order no response I've tried calling them no response try emailing them no response I repeated this action two or three times on Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday and never received a response along with a couple of phone calls that I made throughout my day at work trying to reach them Wonder website said they were open and so unsuccessful. I figured I might not get my ECM back and thought how unprofessional and really didn't know what was happening. Thursday game and the next thing I knew I received a text stating ECM was repaired there was a small short in a circuit board and it was repaired and on its way back. I thought okay well should be here in a day or two it had arrived on Saturday so about a week for 2 days would have been sooner if someone would have been there on the Wednesday that USPS tried to deliver it. Seeing how they didn't get it until Friday so I guess you could stay a week. I had to work the weekend so I waited until Monday when I installed the ECM back in my vehicle I had found it obviously was "not repaired" the vehicle still did not start! The same as before I sent it out.. I threw away $300 for nothing and to get a hold of these people is almost impossible. My ECM still broken and never got repaired and I'm demanding a refund. I'm also reporting to the Better...
