Wish I could rate zero stars. This is one of the worst experiences I've ever had. We arrived and the individual at the counter was cold and unfriendly upon entry, but we dismissed this. We were in a group of 4 adults and 4 kids, and had purchased food to feed the animals. When entering the park, the owner shoved the door in two of the adults faces saying we aren't allowed to enter the park unless we buy something. We stated that we were with the other adults in the front of the group, so she let us in. As we walked thru the park it was very clear they do not care for these animals; there was a mini horse with eye infections that appeared sick and uncomfortable, the geese have their wings clipped so that they can't fly and they also don't have access to nearly enough water for that number of geese, the bunnies had no heat source were just locked in a dirt pit, they mated turkeys with ducks which were also clearly unhealthy, and the sheep were so overgrown that could hardly see or walk comfortably. On top of all this, all the animals are living in large amounts of their own waste and have no access to water, and it's unclear whether or not they get fed outside of visitor feeding.
At the end of our trip, we had a member of the group use the restroom off the park grounds in a wooded area. Since there was no public restroom available and we had traveled to come here, we were unsure what else to do considering it was urgent. The owner began screaming, asking what we were doing. We told her honestly and politely, and apologized if this was not okay. She screamed at the top of her lungs that we are f** trash, and that she's been "holding it in for 30 years" and that we should have gone before leaving home (which we had done, and we had also asked to use the restroom upon arrival). She shouted that we are no longer welcome and that we need to "get out immediately." We had a 2 year old, removed from this situation, who was playing on the train and she screamed at us to "get your kid OFF the train NOW," and proceeded to raise her voice (didn't think it could get louder) hustling us back inside and threatening to have the police forcibly remove us, all the while calling us trash (after having spent money at her establishment and remaining very respectful the entire time). As we were leaving, she shouted to one of the employees to "go get Brad!!!!" It makes me wonder what 'Brad' would have done to us because we weren't moving as quickly as she was trying to force us.....
I would not recommend anyone visit this place. Aside from the disgusting employee/owner scenario, you don't want to see these animals unless you are giving your children a lesson in animal abuse. This establishment either needs to be shut down and these animals put out of their misery, or the owners consider caring for...
Read moreAn egregious display by a white haired woman. She came barrelling towards us upon locking our vehicle, pointing and yelling that we were not welcome. We were shocked and utterly confused, looking around thinking maybe someone behind/beside us. It didn't make any sense. Firstly, she did not appear to be associated with Peck's because she was not dressed to represent any business in her faded, oversized pajamas. Secondly, we had just gotten out of the vehicle and could not have possibly done anything to warrant being kicked out. She clamored that we had deliberately parked with our business decal to advertise in their parking lot and that we can take it down the road because we are not welcome to shop. We tried to explain that there was a major misunderstanding, that we live 45 min west of Chicago, three hours from this establishment and that was not at all what we were doing. We came to support their business by purchasing sweetcorn, fudge, amish popping corn, etc. We have never been approached over it while patronizing farm stands around home and last summer we spent a bit over two hours enjoying animals and shopping for goodies HERE. Same truck, same decal, same location- no one said anything to us. We are a small specialty farm and are by no means competition for most near us, let alone three hours awat. Infact- we are the supplier that businesses like Peck's buy wholesale from. [Backstory: We visit down the road each summer at a good friend's establishment. We have easily spent a few hundred dollars over the few years at this Peck's] Still yelling and pointing, she claimed she doesn't care where we are from, we are not allowed to shop with our logo on our vehicle and if we didn't leave she was calling the police. The worst part of it all, she did this in front of our young children who were excited to visit again. Our children deserve better, so we went ahead and went to Peck's in Arena. Similar options, extra wonderful people (whom we asked if we were okay to get a few things because we had been accosted down the road over it, said our vehicle wouldn't have even crossed their minds.) We made a mistake by thinking Peck's in Spring Green would continue to be a fun family tradition. They have permanently lost our...
Read moreI wish I could give this nightmare of a place, that doesn't care about anything but money, zero stars!!
We had corn left from our last visit with us that I gave to my son. A man IMMEDIATELY came out telling us to leave because we didn't put quarters in the machines. We said ok and proceeded to get our son. Well then he continued to get in my husband's face telling us to, "Go now!" I told him yeah we are and will gladly leave as we will not purchase anything after the attitude. He said we needed to go faster. I was already picking up my son and the guy's mom came out yelling at us to leave and calling us "tightwads." My husband said we are and asked the guy to step away from him, as he was within a foot of him. He said he wouldn't as he was "escorting" us. We explained we were leaving, but needed to get our son. My husband made the comment about them clearly having no experience with children. The lady said that they do and the children are not like my son and we are horrible parents! My 3 year old was on the airplane playing...guess that's so bad!! She and her son took pictures of us walking to our car. Then she took a picture of our license plate while her son takes one of us loading our son up. He told my husband to "smile for the picture" and have a "great Father's Day weekend." The whole time my toddler was screaming as he had no idea why they were yelling.
WOW WHAT CRAZIES!!! I don't know what it feels like to be a criminal, but I would say today they made me feel like one! I don't recommend anyone to go there as they are clearly unstable and it's shown by the lack of people there as well! We have always went here for years...a couple times a year and it's far from what it used to be!!
Last year, when I was there with my older son, they stared at us the whole time we were in the store like we were going to steal some nasty melted sticky candy. This was the first time we were back since then, and the last! If you want a freak show experience go here! Who knows maybe your license plate picture will end up next to mine in their...
