A group of friends and I stopped here on our way to camp in St. Croix today and we recieved the message loud and clear: "People of color are NOT welcome here." An older white female employee singled out my black friend and ultimately implied that he must not be able to read due to his race. We had to walk out of the establishment (along with several other customers who overheard the raciat altercation) without buying supplies. The Danbury store is quite a bit smaller and almost half of it is taken up with liquor, leaving the grocery portion of it to be quite small. I stopped in on my way to our lake place to grab some frozen pizza to make for my family. I could find a bunch of meat forward options, but I could literally not find a single cheese pizza for my kids. That was disappointing. I noticed wage wise don't pay very well but they have the highest prices on most everything. Being one of the poorest counties in the state of Wisconsin, the owners are taking advantage of the fact there isn't a lot of competition.
