Don't expect Atlantic City or Vegas and you may be alright .The casino itself is mediocre even for the area its located. Which does not boast any other choices hence why they are still in operation. There are no table games ,no dealers, pit bosses, floor hosts, only slots . The slots themselves could prove to be fun but there are not nearly enough even for the small crowd this casino attracts . Nearly everyone I sat next to was in their 60s and grumbling about one health concern or another. The bar service is practically non existent , which came as a surprise being the room is so small. I was there for just under an hour and heard in the distance a hostess walking the floor echoing the standard ( drinks, anyone want drinks ).Unfortunately for me I never actually made eye contact as she appeared to be stuck in the 20 machine ( High Roller Area ) . In all it was a poor experience but when there's no other options close it will do in a pinch just to play 100 bucks and cross your fingers. Beware when parking ,as the lot is a complete disaster, all pot holes and loose gravel, very low budget. Just bear in mind it is far from a true casino , just merely a few 1 armed bandits in the city...
Read moreMy husband and I came to the casino for a much needed nite out. It was our 2nd time in 10 years. The first time we only drank and danced to an R&B band that was really good. Last nite, we ate at the Upper Deck because we wanted a 5 star dinner. That is NOT what we got. The restaurant was less than par. Very dated, not well staffed and wasn't clean. We felt like we stepped back in time. The waitress, while bubbly, wasn't knowledgeable about the drinks. She had to go in the back 2 times to find out if they made Mojito's and had Hennessey. What establishment that carries alcohol doesn't make Mojito's or have Hennessey on hand. We ordered the blackened filet of sole and the lobster tail. The food was horrible and worse, it was overly priced. We walked around the casino and saw tons of penny machines. I suppose there were other slot machines as well but we never saw them. We left and will NEVER come back. Thank goodness Adelaar is being built because the Monticello casino is depressing and has poor standards. We'd never recommend this place to anyone. This place is a cemetery for seniors with no place else to go...
Read moreEmployees are verry rude for working in the customer service industry. On 2 separate occasions I delt with very rude employees and very long waits for assistance. Once with a food court employee, who sold me a food item they were all out of. I needed a refund from a manager, who took over 20 minutes to show up and give me my money back. Both were very rude. And today, when a slot machine ate my money. I pushed the service button for assistance and it took over 30 minutes and 2 different security guards calling for someone on walkie talkie to finally get someone over. Once again when the 2 employees, whose job it was to open the machine, finally came over, they were both extremely rude. The one them went to close up the machine with my money still inside of it. When I said something, the other rudely told me "don't worry you'll get your money". I will never return, and spend one more penny at this place. I will wait for the new casino to open and hope they have a better attitude then what I...
