I had a pickup, not a delivery. Signs tell you to park off to right and then walk to and check in @ guard shack. Then you simply follow their instructions which they use visual cues to show you. I had a 1430 appointment but was told I'd get in early if I showed up at 0900. I was done and out of there by 1030. For me it was take left at stop sign. Go around bend in road. You will see shipping office directly after bend. Pull in and park in one of the rows. Make sure you're trailer is clean. Move tandems to rear. Open doors. Drop trailer park off to side. Go check in @ shipping office (there's a bathroom in there, too). They'll tell you to do exactly what I already indicated. Yard jockey will grab your trailer and dock it. They'll let you know when it's done. Hook back up. Go get paperwork. Envelope goes in trailer. Put straps or load locks as needed. Close and seal doors. Move tandems where you want. Go back to guard shack. Give guard paper marked guard pass, They'll check your seal and you're good to go. No scale for our use on facility. (I was headed south, so next one...
Read more2 live loads ahead of me at 430. 1 left around 730, not sure when the other did. Coming up on 4 hours and still waiting. The excuse was they have 1 loader. And...? Nothing, that's it, just one guy can't load a trailer an hour that should take 10 minutes.
Pathetic excuses for people will have me driving at night in the snow and still away from home for an extra day with no extra pay all because they are too sorry to do the job they are paid to do. So few honest decent people left in this industry and this is not one of them. Should be fired for stealing time if they really took that long. More likely they were loading drop trailers and just don't care that they hold people hostage. Why would they? zero consequences for them.
O and they are petty. Don't park near the door, we need that space, that they never used. Don't pull up to the stop sign to check in go back and park over there and walk so I can take as long to check you in as it took me to tell you to move. Small humans with small lives out here in the middle of nowhere need to feel more important...
Read moreYou have to pull to the side then walk up to the guard shack to check in. If you have a live load you will not have to scale in or out. The guard will tell you the directions of where you need to go. Once you are told where your supposed to go you'll check in at the shipping or receiving office. I'm picking up a load so they had me drop my trailer and their own yard mover took my trailer and backed it into the dock for me. You'll have to remove everything from your trailer and slide the tandems back before you drop the trailer. Once your trailer is done being loaded the yard mover notifies you and you'll go to the office to complete the paperwork. I arrived at 3:25pm with 2 trucks in front of me and the wait wasn't to long. By 4pm my trailer was in a door. I was driving out of the facility by 5:00pm. The area around here is very nice I would love to visit this place one day without the truck. There are some steep grades and sharp turns coming out this way so be careful...
