Ya'll, stop reading this and just commit to attending the next Pizza on the Farm event. If you are reading this during the winter, keep reading because Pizza on the Farm is only a summer thing.
Grassway Organics is a farm that has Pizza on the Farm almost every Friday & Saturday in the summer months. Pizza on the Farm includes wood fired oven pizza that are made on the premises, live music, and adult beverages from local breweries. This is a well-oiled machine, ya'll. They are not messing around. There are also non-alcoholic beverages available for those of you who are too young to partake or choose not to do so. In summer 2021, locally made mugs are available for purchase. The mugs are $45 and include a free adult beverage fill. The cups are adorable. Adult beverages include locally brewed beer and mead and non-local wine in a can.
I believe most of the produce and meat comes from the farm itself. For vegetarians like myself, there is usually 1-2 meat free options. Do note that this pizzas are big so bring Tupperware to take some home.
Other things to note: Doggos are not allowed on the property. I know, sad but I get it. Sigh.
Kiddos are allowed on the property. I know, sad but I get it. Jk. They run around and have a grand o'le time. They'll get dirty so don't dress them in Sunday's finest.
Bring your own chairs. There are some picnic tables available but most people bring their own lawn chairs and blankets.
-Pack other snacks, such as a salad! Greens are good for you.
-You can visit the cows! Do not leave without saying "hello" and "thank you" to the cows; I'm looking at...
Read moreBeen coming to pizza on the farm for years. It’s always a good time and fun environment. The pizza is the reason I’m giving this 2 stars. It’s honestly become quite terrible since they’ve become so popular.
I Ordered the Pork in the Woods pizza. I have to say looks are very deceiving with this pizza.
I ask for “well done” and yet my pizza still comes out severely undercooked. The toppings were cold, the dough was mushy, too much cheese, no basil or arugula (like it stated online and on the menu), hardly any toppings, the sausage was gross, absolutely no flavor to anything and yet I brought this all to a servers attention and she basically said she’s not sure what could be done about it and offered no assistance.
Go for the environment, enjoy some drinks and have some snacks. I wouldn’t eat their pizza even if I got it for free.
Hopefully ownership reads this and decides to slow down the kitchen, add seasonings (flavor) to the pizza, and actually serve a good product since we’re all paying $30 for a pizza. This is a great spot and I love supporting small businesses, so please make some...
Read moreThe scenery is great, the music is ok. The pizza is by far the most overrated and overpriced I've ever seen in my life.
We ordered the Pork in the Woods for lack of a better option. We chose to upgrade to the sourdough crust as we both love sourdough. The crust was par cooked at best and soggy, the mushrooms and onions were cold and raw as was the sausage. It seemed as though someone took a parcooked crust, slapped some toppings on and put it in the oven for 3 minutes to melt the cheese and called it a day. For $32 I expect far more.
I am one who has 0 issues spending a good amount on food and a night out. This was over priced and raw sausage is a good way to make someone sick. I love supporting local but this is one I won't return to based off this...
