Would just like to give you a heads up on this Tack Shop !
Many saddles at Hope Hill are "Consignment" saddles. They are not returnable and you cannot borrow them to try them on your horse. So if you buy a saddle and it has tags on it - like it is new - be sure to ask if is is actually new or if it's technically a consignment. (Mine was a consignment, I did not know, she did not say)
Also, the owner told me, if you buy a new saddle and don't ride in it you can return it. But if you buy a consignment saddle and don't ride in it, it's not returnable.
Anyway, to top it off, you pay an extra 3% on everything if you use a Charge Card. That adds up if you are buying a Saddle !! The owner says that these notices are "clearly" posted on the entrance door and on her desk. However, the desk where you place your things that you are purchasing. If you place your items on the only spot on the desk where there is room, you will NOT see the sign that tells you about the extra 3% - that is "CLEARLY" represented.
The owner was quite sweet and nice while she told me I'm out $555 and have a saddle that does not fit my horse. No trades, no returns, no saddle that I can use. BEWARE and read ALL of the...
Read moreI have nothing but exceptional comments for this shop. Mandie has a ton of equipment and supplies and mainly it is in order. If it is not, it is because the customers have gone through the boxes or were taking the stuff and moved it or tried it on and left it. I can say this because I’ve actually watched it multiple times while I was in there shopping. I personally have purchased three saddles, a hunter/jumping, a dressage saddle, and a tree less Western. Two of those were special ordered, and she was very clear to me that even though they were special ordered if they did not fit after trying them on the horse , As long as the saddle remained a new shape and it was within her return period, which was stapled right onto my receipt, they would be returnable. If you’re buying a saddle that doesn’t look brand new, then it’s on consignment because she carries all new. I’m sorry that those people didn’t have a better outcome. But I’ve spent over $20,000 at this shop In the past 2 1/2 years, and she always made sure that I had what I needed size wise everything...
Read moreDepending on what you are visiting for, this tack shop can be great or it can be a bit frustrating to navigate. A surplus of products at very good, low and reasonable prices, and if you name it she (the proprietor) can probably find what you're looking for in the shop. This could take 5 minutes total, or it could be a search. She has a LOT of highly discounted turnout blankets and sheets which is so great. Those are spectacularly priced. I always enjoy my visits, and got an excellent saddle at a fair price here about 10 months ago, and it is perfect. There is a good selection of saddles, quite a few western, some Australian stock saddles, treeless saddles, quite a few hunt seat saddles, a smaller but fair amount of dressage saddles. There are new and used boots here, same for the tack. Just know that it is cluttered here, that's my...
