Wood Creek Hollow Farms — Local services in Town of Verona

Was on a ride with a very nice guy that told us the rules, asked for a review, etc. He was very good at setting the mood and making everyone feel eerie. Warning: ACTORS CAN TOUCH YOU This was a surprise at first, but thank god they can. It made the experience so much better. The sections were based off of a few fears and iconic movies, like The Shining, Freddy VS Jason, Halloween, etc. The theming was amazing!!!!! I’m petrified of clowns, yet the clown section was one of my favorites! They did very well also with the lighting, costumes and acting. Every section was unique and the actors would touch you, talk and interact to with you, and Freddy even grabbed my jacket. (That was awesome.) If the owners ever view this, what was the inspiration for the final stop with the curtains and strobe lights? It felt kind of like the Purge, but I’m not sure. Anyways, this is a GREAT place to go for a good scare, great entertainment and they also have food! The purpose of this review is to help prevent others from being disappointed, or wasting their time and money. Disappointed by the exorbitant admission we paid. Signed a waiver with tiny fine print even a magnifying glass couldn’t read -for no purpose. Told no photography or we would have our cell phones taken away and any pictures or videos deleted before we even set foot inside I don’t believe that is even legal in NY. There wasn’t anything we would have taken a picture of LOL. Again unnecessary. $20 a person to stand in a short but extremely slow line over an hour, saw 3 groups go ahead of everyone by somehow skipping the line and being sweet hearted in, before finally got our chance to enter. We were given a key that serves no purpose, and walked through the path in 5 minutes. Actors and set was nice, but not much there to see. There was 1 food truck, two tents with crafts and a small gift shop. Also two propane fire pits. This is basically a $5 event we felt really let down for the amount of money we spent. The overall event was fantastic! The atmosphere perfectly captured a fall and Halloween vibe. The Grim Reaper made for a fun and spooky welcome to the Halloween amusement. Every character inside the hands-on walking experience was inspired by a scary movie and played their role exceptionally well. It was clear they enjoyed what they were doing and were very engaging with visitors.

Although I didn’t try the food trucks, there were plenty lined up offering a great variety. Local vendors also had items for sale at very reasonable prices. Inside the gift shop, themed items were well-stocked and affordably priced.

This is truly a must-see event! Be sure to wear running shoes or comfortable walking shoes to avoid tripping or stumbling—I’d strongly recommend...
