Tops Friendly Markets — Local services in Town of Walworth

*2/26/23 Since my last review, things have improved. Food is properly stocked and I can quickly make my purchases in the morning.

Though, I feel like there might be food tampering or improper food handling/safety with the prepared chicken rice dish I like. Now every time I eat one I'm having horrible diarrhea. That definitely didn't happen prior to my original review 😥. Also, the consistency and quality of chicken rice dish has drastically gone down. There used to be actual chunks of chicken in it, now I'm finding large pieces of skin and fat.

(Original review) Usually disappointed in their prepared foods section. I'm gluten intolerant and my favorite dish is always gone, fajita chicken rice and beans.

Things they can improve: A) Better gluten free selection. B) Do a better job at keeping things stocked, especially popular things that are always gone. C) Service is pretty slow in the mornings while all the old ladies are busy gossiping. D) Cash back is limited to $40... really?

I generally like shopping at this location because of the variety in the bakery. I grabbed a bagel and was going to also get coffee and sit in their Cafe area but they would not honor the prices listed on the wall and didn't seem like they would take down the sign. They said it was for different coffee that they no longer sell. Then why leave a misleading sign up? The sitting area is great. They have several tables, a microwave and a tv usually playing the news. Just need to remove the sign or honor the prices listed. A large coffee would have come up to $2.79 which is more than McDonald's and it's made by a machine. It is too expensive given the quality of coffee. The bagels are scarce,not as tasty, stale and priced the same as wegmans. Generally prices for everything at all tops are high. They advertise sales making you think you have to buy a certain quantity and some items that are on sale are still the same cost at Walmart but that is Walmarts...

I shop at the walworth tops weekly..I have learned you must shop on sunday to get the specials for the week..because the shelves can be empty..Sunday june 14 I came there at noon to buy corn on special for .24 each..there was none out..took a while to find help..I was told..we only put out a little each day..we have to make it stretch all week..there was a limit of 6 ..I said can you give me 3..I had 8 ppl coming over for a cook out..he reluctantly gave me 3..the worst corn ever..went in the garbage..my guests were appalled..they shared their experiences at this store..none were good..I will say pam at the counter is amazing..very helpful..always friendly and helpful..a few young kids are good too..but in general..not a good place to...
