Weâve driven past many times and finally stopped. Upon arrival, it is a cute village town look, but we quickly found there is no public trash can because, as the rude woman in the fudge shop told us, âthey pay for trash by the pound.â It is in disrepair and there is no way it is handicap accessible. Half of the shops werenât open and one shop had a sign that stated that they werenât open âbecause of lack of staffing.â The only shop that was worth visiting was the cabin decor shop. The man running that shop actually understands what customer service is and his store was clean and organized. The antique/candy store have the same person running them and she is as rude as the day is long. The fudge/candy, as well as everything in the antique store is grossly overpriced. We didnât want to give her our business anyway, after her horrible attitude. The wine/liquor shop has a good selection, but has terrible staff. We felt like we were inconveniencing the guy when we asked for the wine tasting. When we asked him the price of an item we got the answer, âIt is what it is.â Half of the bottles had price stickers and half didnât. There were boxes and bottles all over the floor and plenty of cleaning that could have been done, but the two employees were sitting outside smoking and gossiping. At one point, the fudge witch came over and joined the gossip session. Long story short, if you want to stop and get good customer service, visit the guy at the cabin decor shop. We wonât ever return unless itâs to see him. The other stores need...
Read moreThis quaint town of shops is a nice place to visit on your way to, or when leaving Appleton off of Highway 10, between Appleton and Stevens Point. The first building we went to consisted of two shops. The first was a fudge and gourmet foods shop. They had fudge, cheese, meats, and other interesting food items to choose from. The shop next to it was an antique shop, with dolls and clothes and Tiffany type lamps. The next building was the Brass Butterfly Cabin Decor. They had several pieces of cabin furniture and decor. They also had many very reasonably priced framed pictures. Next was the wine shop with a huge selection of wine and alcohol to choose from. Lastly, there was the chapel (Nature Furniture Gallery), with more furniture pieces from the Brass Butterfly.
Lucky's Antique Gas Signs was closed. There were no free wine and cheese samples we could find, although this is probably due to Covid.
A charming place to visit. I would...

Both stores are very crowded, I was trying to show my sister-in-law a necklace in a locked case in the corner, I barely touched a gazing ball sitting on a stand and next thing I heard breaking glass. The clerk came over and said "You break it you buy it". I said "of course I'll pay to replace the gazing ball". The clerk said, "it's a set, you have to pay for the whole thing". $175, plus tax and their 3.65% credit card fee, $192 lesson learned! The gazing ball costs $20 at Walmart. When I vented, she said, "You don't have to be like that". Wow! Thank you for your kind parting words for a reluctant $192 purchase! đ” Merchandise is overpriced, stores are very, very crowded so save money and keep driving!
