DO NOT LET YOUR LOVED ONE GO HERE. I posted this review below 3.5 months ago when my grandmother first got to Carthage Center. While there she kept getting worse off and sicker, finally she had to be rushed to a hospital for low potassium. While in the hospital for a couple weeks and away from Carthage center she started to get better and was noticeably healthier. She went back to Carthage center and now a little over a month later she passed away this morning. She was a great person and didn’t deserve the treatment she got at Carthage Center after having a stroke in her home 4 months ago. DO NOT LET YOUR FAMILY MEMBER GO HERE. All the 5 star reviews for this place are fake and were bought. Go click on the name of one of the 5 star reviews on here, they all left the same reviews for rehabs around the state of NY and the country.
I, Richard Carpenter have called and left more than 4 messages for Nurse Bossart who is head of nursing. I have never received a call back regarding my mother who is currently residing at Carthage Center. It’s extremely alarming that she doesn’t receive medication on time and her condition has actually gotten worse since arriving at Carthage Center about 2 weeks ago. I will be contacting federal and state medical officials to investigate practices at this nursing home since nobody there will return my calls and I cannot verify the care being provided for my family member is adequate. I am flying to New York very soon to document the care at this facility for the...
Read moreI wish I could give no stars. This is by far the worst decision I have ever made for not only my husband, but my entire families history.
The nursing staff come to find out were not properly staffed, licensed, and this fell on the care of my husband and I’m sure other residents. All I heard every visit was how much the nursing staff disliked their jobs, not all of them but most. Some were great, but the ones who were not really made it rough. Like smoking right outside windows of residents - that’s great. Not just once did he fall due to trying to get to the bathroom after waiting over 30 minutes for assistance. Medications were given 5-6 hours after the time they are due. I addressed this with the administration and she acted like it was ok. The social worker and head of nursing don’t call back, and my husband missed his second covid vaccine after I called 6 times - I gave them 2 weeks to do so within that window of extra days.
If you look and see 5 star reviews for this facility they are members who work there, individuals who are working for other rehabs, or nurses who clearly are being told to do so.
Don’t send your loved one here. I went to who I needed to legally yes. As I’m sure do many as they probably never needed to. This place should not be open, and I’m truly terrified for the other individuals in the...
Read moreIf I could rate zero stars I would. I work in a medical setting, we also have a rehab unit; my coworkers and I could NEVER have such a lack of professionalism, care, and productivity that Carthage Center has shown me. Taking 30 minutes to move my fiancé’s grandfather who just had a STROKE from his wheelchair to his bed (they are directly next to each other). Just sitting at the desk staring at people instead of letting visitors in to see patients, and when they finally do get up to let people in they have an attitude about it and think that they can run their mouths to maintenance about how the visitors annoy them while the visitors can hear every word they say on the other side of the alarm protected door that you can’t open without help from a worker. The place is disgusting. No upgrades in years, not even a chair for visitors to sit in. You just have to awkwardly stand if the wheelchair isn’t full of medical equipment. Patients unattended in wheelchairs all over the place, staring into the rooms of other patients. I get the workers don’t wanna be there, I wouldn’t either if I worked under the imbecilic people you hired as supervisors. But there is no reason to take that out on the family members that’s bodies have been through enough already. I’ll be speaking to MUCH higher...
