Flambeau River State Forest — Local services in Town of Winter

Stayed in the Yurt from 6/5 - 6/8. Absolutely loved the place. However, there is currently flooding so the mosquitoes were insane, I have never seen them so bad!! Keep that in mind if you go. The Yurt is cleaned on Tuesdays and there is a place they need to sign after cleaning, last time was November of last year. You are about 15 minutes or so away from the other campgrounds (driving). If you need water, we walked over to Dix Docs and filled up jugs. (Not drinking water). Would have loved to have been able to checkout trails and fish, hopefully next time. Park Falls has a great place to get wood. Make sure you got gas in your vehicle, it's about 30 mins to the gas station.Also at the headquarters, the men's shower is hotter and more pressure then the womens, also if you go late at night they do keep the bathrooms locked but not the showers. There is a vault toilet...

It doesn't get better then this, God's Country, per solitude, beautiful scenic woods running along side this river. A true hidden treasure of the north woods, from fishing, hunting, hiking, camping, canoeing, 90000 thousand acres of prestige land. Thankyou Wisconsin for preserving this...
