Last year I bought a Stihl 271 chainsaw for some fallen trees around the property. I had never operated a chain saw but the owner took over 30 minutes to explain and demonstrate what I should do. He suggested the safety equipment (chaps, eye, and head protection) and I am glad he did. I really felt more comfortable with the safety equipment after viewing a few YouTube videos about the dangers involved. I never felt pressured to buy more than was needed and I appreciate that. This March, Western N.Y. got hit hard with a wind storm and we were hit, several tall trees fell. I was able to take care of the trees with my 271 and probably saved over $2,000 for professional cutting.
