The service was terrible. When I arrived I had to stand at the counter in the pro shop and stare at the "Old Pros' shooting the breeze for over 5 MINUTES before being acknowledged (if you dont want or like your job on a course dont waste the golfers time, do us all a favor and quit). The greens fees for a course with crappy tee boxes muddy uneven divot infested fairways with a lack luster indoor operations crew are astronomically high and unreasonable. The starters have no idea what they are doing...they put a twosome of ladies in front for a foursome of single digit handicappers and the ladies wouldnt let us play through and there was not a ranger in sight, nor would the pro shop send one out when phoned. Rocks and debris in the sandtraps make saving par almost impossible, not to mention inconsistencies in the speed of the greens. I know about 50 people who after receiving this review ( which will be forwarded to all golf course review forums as well as golfnow) will redirect their golfing budgets to other courses where the staff actually gives a crap about the customer. This is a service business not a retail quickstop and should be treated as such ESPECIALLY with such high "public-course" green fees. Sincerely, an unsatisfied aggravated...
Read moreMohansic your slip is showing. Yes this past winter was very difficult. The course is in deplorable shape. A cash cow for the county, where is the thinking. The greens are in AWFUL shape, every hole has bare, rock strewn patches of neglect and there is no effort to improve, beautify or preserve this wonderful asset. I’ve played here for over 30 years. Now a poster hangs on what was once the pro shop proclaiming a new capital improvement. Are they addressing the erosion eyesore on the first tee (it’s opposite the meaningless shed placed there a year ago)? What’s the purpose of this oddity? I’ve yet to see a starter go near it. No the new spending is for a cart barn. Who does this serve? How does this help county golfing residents? It’s silly. Fix the golf course. Improve the golf course conditions. Greens are terrible. Neglect everywhere. Funny though, I never heard any one complaining about...
Read moreThe course gets 4 stars because it is a challenging golf course with unique holes. Not a boring play at all. A truly wonderful layout. Some holes challenge with length, others require precision. The fairways and greens are typically in excellent shape. Greens have been phenomenal the past few seasons.
3 greens on the course can be frustrating. 5, 8, and 15. They aren't fair because they have too much slope and are the reason this course isn't 5-stars.
Bunkers have traditionally been a problem here due to drainage problems but they spent a ton of $ recently improving the drainage and replaced the sand with crushed shell. Much improved.
Practice facilities are very nice. Driving range, chipping/sand green, and a large putting green. Resturaunt/bar is nice with decent food and good prices. Live music at the resturaunt can be annoying...
