Absolutely disgusted. I’ve used bluebonnet for probably 6+ deer now. Correct me if I’m wrong BB. And this is a first. I know the cleanliness started with the person who quarters it, which I usually do. This time we were on a bachelor trip on a hi fence ranch and didn’t handle our product they cleaned and quartered the axis their selfs. My buddie called me and said he found some gut matter on his meat and urged me to call bluebonnet and make sure they cleaned all of their products well before process and packaging which I did! Not sure who I spoke with it was a man. And he re insured me that all of their products were cleaned thoroughly before packaging. This doesn’t look very thorough to me!! Once again. Absolutely disgusting. It’s one thing to find bone or bullet fragments in the meat but fecal matter.. I don’t even want to open the rest.. but I will and if I find more I’ll post it here. This was just 1 package.

We had a steer processed for personal use with Bluebonnet. With one exception it was a positive experience. Unfortunately, the one exception is a big deal to us. Bluebonnet was easy to work with, packaged the meat well, and turnaround was quick. It was very nice not to have to drive as far as we usually do. The negative part of the experience was that the steaks were all cut to the wrong thickness. We asked for 3/4" steaks (and they did label the packages 3/4"), but all of the steaks were cut over an inch. This has a pretty significant impact on the number of steaks produced, and we would have much rather had the larger number of steaks. I'm not really sure how to keep this from happening in the future. In spite of the otherwise positive experience, we probably won't be able to use this processor again.

I have used blue bonnet for close to a decade for not only wild game but also my family uses it for cattle processing as well. I have never been as dissatisfied as I am this year last year was also a problem with wild game. We work really hard and spend a lot of money to hunt deer and to spend money to have it professionally packaged and it be this crapy is really sad especially if you stored in the freezer which obviously everyone does going to enclose a picture of my steaks which are they most important part of my dear keep in mind they have not been opened yet this is the way they came out of the freezer that means they were never properly sealed which can cause your meat to be freezer burnt.

Bad Experience. I bought a scale just so I could use this processor (since the don't have one) because I know others who use Bluebonnet's and they were happy with them. But, after using them I have a good idea why they don't have a live scale - they do A LOT of skimming off the top. I have been using abattoir services for about five years now and this one had the smallest return; 50%, most places can do at least 60% or, sometimes even better. Not only did they skim a lot but they mislabeled my meat which caused me to have to make two additional trips; at 1 hr round trip, this added to my cost on a service that was already the costliest around. When service is of quality to merit a higher price, I am happy to pay the additional fee but, that was not the case with this company. Not only does this company charge a higher price to the customer but then, they double dip as they re-sell a lot of the customer's product to others. It is an unspoken rule that processors will take some off the top for themselves but this place takes that rule to the extreme. I can see how someone who is not paying attention, doing the math, or dealing with other companies to make a comparison could overlook the cons but, look deeper - there are many cons - I will not return nor would I recommend this company to others. Just because someone says "have a blessed day" does not mean they are...

Have had three of my animals done here now and honestly feel like I'm maybe getting only 40%-50% of the meat back. I usually do my own butchering and only bring them in if its too big to do myself, that being said, I took a heffer in a year ago and got less meat back than I got off of her calf which I butchered myself that was half her weight. Just recently, I brought in a sow that I had been raising for about three years that was 6 foot long from shoulder to tail and easily 400 lbs. I was told that she did not have enough belly to make bacon with and was given 3 small slices of uncured pork belly each maybe four inches long by 10 inches. In addition to this every scrap of fat was trimmed from every cut of meat I got leaving me with about 100lbs of dry flavorless meat. The hams, having been trimmed of all fat before smoking, are so dry that I am tempted to throw it all away. Such a waste of time, effort and money raising this pig only to have what little meat they gave me back ruined.

The only reason I am giving two stars is because they are cheap, but I guess they can afford to be when they are reselling meat that they are taking from customers.

I have talked to many of my friends who raise their own livestock and they have had the same...
