Camp Dogwood — Local services in Troutman

BED BUGS! We found bed bugs here! Staff admitted the camp have had several reports of BED BUG issues. Staffers admitted that rooms have been treated prior to my visit. Myself and friends were bitten all over. We removed the mattress and discovered many more bed bugs! Some of the rooms across from us had signs "out of order", why did the staff put people in these bed bug infested rooms?! I hope the visually blind visitors won't be attacked by bed bugs. Camp Dogwood Please correct this issue or close down. Research the damage that bed bugs are capable of causing...they arent just a regular bugs. They will take over your home and fast! Be careful...

Between the mold on the ceilings and the bed bug infestations in multiple buildings, we did not enjoy our stay. We are a large group that came for a training, the "executive director" gave a seriously lack luster apology to our group in which she insinuated that those who experienced the issues may have brought the bugs, which was highly inappropriate and offensive given that the establishment has "an established protocol" and infeates in in-house machinery they use to "treat" the rooms. We have used Camp Dogwood as our business retreat for 2 years, and both times, the staff and facilities were top-notch. The reception area was comfortable, clean and inviting. Food is excellent. The chef's homemade soups are as spectacular as the view. The grounds alone are worth the stay. One can feel the tension release as soon as you drive through the massive entryway toward beautiful Lake Norman. But it's the hospitable service that will bring us back next year. We can honestly call this staff, "friends." So glad we found...
