(Caution: snakes, yellow jacket wasps/bees) I visited gap mountain summit trail in August end. The trail started with a lovely pond full of water lilies, followed by a path with remnants of stone walls on both sides which had some historical significance ( I think farmers put those rocks there which they found in their fields but I could be wrong) , then there was a waterfall, the hike up was fully shaded and lovely, with other friendly hikers passing by, don't forget to appreciate the canopy while watching out for the roots! It's dog friendly, stones have been kept in a way that they work like stairs. Slightly challenging hike, hiking poles recommended though not mandatory.
Caution: Carry plenty of water (2 litres) , it can get humid, hiking poles proper hiking shoes, also be cautious of snakes, I found a snake hide and saw a snake, it's a perfect habitat for snakes.
