Tulare Animal Services — Local services in Tulare

I wish I could give negative stars!!!! The #CityofTulareAnimalControl should be fined and or sued for how they savagely shot and killed my grandma Cora Edwards beloved dog Clyde. Animal control watched her house for days trying to catch the dogs outside the gate. Today, Clyde got out of the gate and was found messing with another dog in heat. When Michael Capote and Wendy Roper tried to catch him, they couldn’t. Clyde made it all the way home and was shot in the leg by Michael on my grandma’s property. Clyde cried and howled hysterically as he bled out. Clyde was not being aggressive nor was he a threat other yet he was shoot down in his own yard. Due to the negligence of the #CityofTulareAnimalControl Clyde was in pained and suffered greatly. It is shameful how these two people chose to treat this dog. Additionally, my grandma was promised Clyde would be well taken care of and that the tranquilizer used wasn’t lethal. She was ill advised and misinformed about the serious condition of her beloved pet. It is truly heartbreaking and unjust to see this warm and friendly dog die in this manner. Please share this post and bring attention to how #CityofTulareAnimalControl trains their employees to kill...

My husband and I drove through Tulare on our way home from visiting my in-laws for the holidays and when we stopped at a gas station we noticed a stray German Shepherd wandering around. I tried to call and report a stray dog at a very busy intersection who needed to be picked up and taken to a shelter, and the woman on the other end of the phone cut me off mid-sentence, saying that if the animal wasn’t injured or violent then they’re not doing pickups because the shelters in all of Tulare and Fresno county are at capacity. She could have stopped there but she went on to say that she already posted this on social media and put the word out, making me seem like I should have known better than to call them. Hence the one star rating.

I hope Tulare and Fresno county are able to hire additional staff or find more volunteers for these shelters because these poor animals...

I've tried to contact on numerous occasions for dogs that are stray in my area but because I'm only within the COUNTY and not within the CITY LIMITS, there is little to nothing they can do and this goes for all of TULARE COUNTY. I've noticed most of their positive reviews are from people within the city limits but not people outside of TULARE or VISALIA. It's a struggle, they say they're all full capacity but then why do they continuously keep going to local city limited areas to pick up these strays. 3 dogs were ran over in my yard (not simultaneously but over the last year) and yet they keep saying they'll pick it up only for a dispatcher to never come or hang up or say they came (when clearly they didn't) and picked it up only for the citizens or locals to clean...
