Tulsa Raceway Park — Local services in Tulsa

I want to bring this to attention since I wasn't allowed 2 seconds to ask any questions before being told to leave.

This is my story, and I am more discouraged than mad, and would like to know what I did wrong so it doesn't happen again to me or anybody else .

Me and my brother had been looking forward to this show for most of the summer, so we load up in my truck and head down there Saturday morning. While waiting to get in, my brother goes to get the tickets while I stayed with the truck in the drive. He comes back and says the ticket price was $25, not $20 like we seen all summer. It kind of sucked but we paid it and went on. But as we drive by the ticket counter/RV I was in the inside lane, traffic paused, so I asked out the driver window why the price change to the ticket table? I was answered with that was preregistration price. I said,well that sucks I guess I missed that on the website, but thank you. As I was driving to park I was met by Big Don, at least that's who's name was on the golf cart. He said turn around your not welcome here, you are going home. I asked why, and he went on very quickly to tell me that I was yelling at his girls and cussing them out. Made it sound like I really went off at them. It shocked me. He also said that if I planned on selling the motor in the back of my truck I needed to pay and be in the swap meet area. I tried apologizing, a lot, even though I hadn't done what I was being accused of, He said that I wasn't welcome and he would escort me back to gate and give our money back to us. He said one of the girls I cussed, which I didn't do, was his wife. I just gave up, and said okay. This guy seemed ready to fight about it. I wanted to go to the show, but it was clear that wasn't going to be an option. So I followed him back to the gate, got out of my truck, apologized again and apologized to the ladies at the ticket desk. But was told very forcefully to get in my truck and leave with security right at his back.

In after thought now that I am home, I am thinking what I could do different. Don't ask the price just pay what they say, even though there were not large signs with prices. I will admit I missed the $5 preregistration notice on the web site, didn't know it at the time, but now see that is the case for remaining super chevy shows. But I had already paid, It wasn't a deal breaker for me. I was just asking a question. Don't bring something to a swap meet at Tulsa Dragstrip and try to park in main parking. Honestly this was my first time doing that, but in all the other swap meets I have been to, Grew up going to them for the last 30years, it was not uncommon. For someone who may not stay all day and only had 1 thing to sell, why pay for a booth and waste others time.

The whole experience was just very rude, and makes me not want to come back to the Tulsa Drags. I was actually told by Big Don, to never come back. Again, while being accused of cussing someone out, which I didn't do. Me and my brother are life long car guys, who hoped to build a car and go to your track to race, but today was just very disheartening. I try hard to live a good life, so to being kicked out with my brother for something we didn't do, well that just sucks.

I hope you all met your goals for the weekend, but if you keep treating people like this I don't see how you can keep drawing a...

Completely Unprofessional!

As spectators, this was my two boys first drag race. If this is the "best" drag park in the country, others must horrible. They have different tiers for seating which is fine, but none of the employees working at the event even knew where my section was (premium seating I purchased online). I walked up bleachers and showed staff employees my green wrist band and they didn't know where the "premium seating" was. Until finally, one employee replied, "No one tells me anything. Just sit here. I don't care." So, me and my two boys sat in those bleachers for half the race until this nervous lady, who seemed to be a common spectator at these races, told us we were in the wrong section. Ugh! This event is not as well organized as other "regulars" that leave comments here would have you believe. The race was also delayed by an hour because they were waiting on an ambulance to arrive. The staff's lack of basic knowledge was irritating. Extremely unprofessional IMO. My boys and I didn't have a good time and won't be...

Horrible! Came from KCMO for the weekend. Never again. Facilities were disgusting with no soap and only handful of stalls had toilet paper. Literally the port a potties were cleaner. Both days we were charged for a camping spot, spectators fee, and racing fee. Got here on Friday night and told at the entrance they'd be running till 11-11:30. They quit at 10pm so we didn't get a chance to run. If we'd have known they quitting early we wouldn't have wasted the time or money. Waited around all day Saturday for the midnight drags that were supposed to start about 11. Didnt start till 2 am. If you aren't a personal buddy or one of the big boys they just kept skipping your line. If you asked any of the staff that was pulling people up in the lanes you got attitude and rudeness. Several hours of waiting around only got to run twice. When you ran you had to make way thru several dozens of kids lining the track. Safety was not anyone's priority here. Will never come back...
