Buyer beware... I contacted Bear Naked Wood late December looking for some helpfl with a project I was working on for a Christmas gift. I was looking to have a CNC inlay done on a end grain cutting board. It was very last minute, so I appreciate trying to squeeze me in. That is where the praise ends. I was quoted around $30 - 40 over the phone. I thought that was a great deal. Boy was I wrong. The project was finally completed at the end of January. A month late I was told the total would be $420, which way more than the original estimate. When I finally received the cutting board back, the quality was very bad. The was voids and missing pieces in the inlay. during the finishing process I was able to find a work less than ideal work around. The major problem is that once the cutting board was wetted down the inlay popped and cracked. Pretty much ruining the cutting board. The communication over the whole process was not great, and it got worse once I received the cutting board. The owner blocked my number. I called from a different number and I was able to get through. I was told that it wasy fault that the inlay cracked and he refused to do anything. This shows that he doesn't stand behind his craftsmanship. Please beware when buying anything from Naked Wood. What a...
Read moreWe have been working with the Bear Naked Wood team for several months now and can't say enough about their professionalism and detail orientation. They are one of a handful of businesses available to Michigan consumers with the skills and abilities to provide live edge, custom wood pieces, and the only one located in Central/Mid Michigan. I found them after an exhaustive search, reached out and was responded to immediately. Not only are they creating a one of a kind, large bar and cabinet set-up, they also are fixing an existing dining room table with stain issues and epoxy issues from a supplier outside of the U.S. It's important to support our local Michigan businesses. Had I known of them sooner we never would have used...
Read moreI just wanted to say a huge thank you to Mike and everyone at BNW for helping a novice like me with my project. I went in to just buy a slab of wood to make a river fire table, which I have never done. Mike took the time to help me pick out the perfect slabs, and then coached me through the entire process. He walked me through his shop and offered to help with the finishing of the process. I am so proud of the fire table I made; it is definitely one of a kind. In a time when so many large businesses are just about the money, it is nice to find a small hometown business that cares about people and helping. Mike- you have earned a customer for life. Thanks, from...
