The items in this consignment shop are of excellent quality (5 stars) that cannot be disputed. The customer service was sub-par (1 star). My mother and I spent a good hour inside this shop; we very much enjoyed looking at the items. We had a family member who was going to furnish 2 entire rooms in her 4,000 sq. foot home and we planned to recommend Deja Vu to her, based on the quality of the furniture.
I decided on 1 small item (less than $5.00) that, while a tiny purchase, was an item that had a deep sentimental value to me. There was a lady at the check out desk on the phone when I approached. Clearly she was on the phone assisting a customer. I was going to wait for her to finish her phone call before I stepped up & placed my item on the counter. A "gentleman" came out of nowhere, grabbed my item from my hands, and walked behind desk with it. No greeting, no conversation, nothing. The entire transaction seemed to be an annoyance to him, as he would neither look at me nor speak to me. We did try to engage him, only to literally be "scoffed" at. One would imagine that perhaps a "hello, may I help you?" or "may I take your item and check you out?" would have been asked, as opposed to grabbing my item and walking away with it.
We do not take another person's behavior personally, but we did wonder if this is the type of attitude consistently shown to customers who make small monetary purchases. In light of our treatment, we choose to frequent another consignment establishment in PTC that knows us on a first name basis and greets us warmly upon entering the store.
Based on word of mouth, it is abundantly clear that we are not the only folks who have experienced this type of...
Read moreNot very professional if you're trying to let them sell your furniture. They will come pick it up and leave no type of receipt - I had to pay them $50 to come get mine and got no receipt for that, either. If your items do not sell in 90 days, they give it away to charity - you have to call them before then to arrange to pick it back up - they won't call you before they give it away. I was told none of this - the driver who picked up the furniture from my house told my husband. I called and confirmed with Lynn. She told me I needed to "put something on my calendar to call them before 90 days, if I want the furniture". Updating my review: One hour after I posted the above, Lynn called me and told me she couldn't do business with me, since I posted a two-star review, and I would have to come pick up my furniture. She finally agreed that they would bring it back to my home tomorrow. I told her that I stood by what I said in the review above, as there was nothing untrue. Changing the two stars to one. ...
Read moreMy first visit dropping off items wasn’t the most pleasant experience but i figured they were busy- so i shrugged it off. When coming to pick up my payment/ items that didn’t sell- i stood at the counter a minute or two before being greeted “what’s up” with an attitude. Then after receiving my cash i was told if i wanted my item i would have to go find it. After telling her how annoying that is considering i have a baby with me is when she told me an approximate location it would be. Once leaving i heard her and a lady say something along the lines of “you could just walk out with whatever” , in which i took she thought i was stealing? I’ll never...
