This is Uhland’s first annual fall festival. Formerly known as Dripping Springs pumpkin festival. I’ve been excited about this festival for quite some time and it’s amazing to see it happening right here in Uhland. I went the second Saturday and it was an extremely hot day. My family and I had a great time walking around. I had intended on trying multiple food trucks but I went to the lobster truck and had the spicy crab roll which was delicious and filling! I tried the lemonade stand and agua Fresca. The mango lemonade was so good. The wood fire pizza was delicious. I got the mozzarella pizza. For dessert I had the churro bites with fudge and a Oreo cookie funnel cake. Last but not least I went to the soda stand and purchased a souvenir cup. Their sweet tea was my favorite, but the lemonade and huckleberry soda were good. The insulated souvenir cup is $30 and comes with unlimited free refills the first day and $7 on the following days.
Now to the festival. Parking is free and there is ample parking. On hot days it’s a must that you take an umbrella, sunscreen and a water bottle. There aren’t a lot of shady places to sit so the covered areas get taken quickly.
There is a fair amount of things for children to do. There are many photo ops, camel and pony rides, petting zoo and it’s really important to check the website for pricing but most paid activities are between $5-10.
The animals are always my favorite. They have a huge corn pen which the kids loved but some were getting a little rambunctious in there and tossing corn (unintentionally I think) at people sitting around the area.
Lots of local vendors selling jewelry, clothes and oh I forgot to mention the coffee stand was incredible. The iced coffee was a hit.
While there are some minor things that can be done to make a huge positive impact on the comfort of those who attend, I think the festival was great and I’m looking forward to attending once more time before it ends for the season.
This festival is a great addition to the community. I felt safe, welcomed and I am excited about...
Read moreMy family and I shared the afternoon together to catch that fall-vibe. The Uhland Fall Fest certainly delivered that, even in the heat.
We planned to have lunch and a big lemonade. We ended up having dessert because well, ya know, funnel cake was a must!
After lunch there was plenty to do like the petting zoo, bike maze, and plenty of spots to enjoy the shade while swaying to the live music. We walked through the vendor booths at the end. My daughter bought some pumpkins and that was a wrap.
My main takeaway is the layout... very spacious, lots of shade, and places to sit as a family. I was surprised that more folks weren't out enjoying this Fall Fest.
What I would do different next visit would be to get my food and drink to enjoy at a table near the stage. This way I could have listened to the music while eating in the shade. I would have planned on a lazy day relaxing in one of the many seating options near the music, probably in one of the hammocks.
Great job with the layout and flow of this venue it really is inviting and accommodating, especially on such a hot day all of the shade is...
Read moreIf you're looking for a fall experience that goes way beyond a typical pumpkin patch, you have to check out the Uhland Fall Fest. Last year, my expectations were completely blown out of the water. It wasn't just a place to pick out a pumpkin; it was an entire experience and the perfect way to spend quality time with family and friends. There was so much to do for both kids and adults that we could have easily spent the whole day there. The photo opportunities were absolutely amazing. You could get your holiday card photos done, and there were endless spots for social media posts that will have all your friends asking, "Where is that? I want to go!" Located near the Kyle, Buda, and San Marcos areas, it's a must-visit spot, and even Austin isn't too far away. The festival had everything you could want: delicious food, live music, fun games, unique vendors, a petting zoo, a train ride, and even a bull photo op. I'm so excited to attend this year, especially since I've heard it's going to be even bigger and better. It's hard to imagine how they could top last year's event, but I can't wait...
