This place is a hidden gem in South Jersey. I thought I would not be able to find an affordable cute rustic place around there. We were throwing a jack and jill shower. It was also the first time my family and his family hung out at a function so it was a big deal. We needed a place that was in between Vineland NJ and Philadelphia PA to host our sides of the family. I was looking at barns, farms and other small gathering areas with a nice farm-house feel. Most of these events places asked for an astronomical price to rent a place for a couple of hours. Even the private events room at restaurants were too expensive. I had a really low budget and wanted to DIY to save money but most places try to get you with the packages they offer. The thing is, my parents are awesome cooks and my friends offered to do a potluck so we didn't need food. I thought all hopes were lost until I stumbled upon A Milkhouse Party! It is honestly the cutest events place I have ever seen. It was so homey and cute. It was rustic, farm-style and vintage. They let you rent the entire place for the day. There was no time limit when we booked our event. That really took away stress and helped us enjoy the day even more because we didn't have to worry about time constraints. We got to bring our own food and they even provided serving plates. The yard is big and really cute setting for photoshoots. There's an outdoor seating area which I thought would be so cute for bonfires but we were there during the day in the middle of the summer so we didn't do that but you can! Utensils and vintage tea cups were available to use. It made the party even more memorable. They provided keurig machine and we just brought our own k-cups but they provided some as well. The little stage area was really thoughtful and made the event a lot more fun. There's even a cute photobooth area with a backdrop you can set up. We just added the love balloon. It was the total package! We had such a great time. Lots of little pocket areas for small gathering areas. You don't feel awkward in a big open space. For example the couch area, the photobooth area, the outdoor seating area you can also grill out there, the dining area, the stage area, etc! It's just super cool there and the owners are really nice and super creative. They also own a floral shop and they create the most beautiful dreamy rustic arrangements check out A Garden Party to see their work. You can do a package with them if you need flowers too. I wished I found out about this place before I booked my wedding reception because I would have totally gone here. I'd recommend A Milkhouse Party to anyone who's looking for a cute events place in South Jersey. I had the pleasure of hosting a baby shower for my best girlfriend back at "A Milkhouse Party" in November 2018. She knew of the Milkhouse already, having had been to a few events their herself as a guest, and knew that she wanted to have her own baby shower there. While we toured different venues, Milkhouse was our first stop! We met with Kelsey, and she was so wonderful giving us a tour of the location, showing us how beautiful the space was. She was very helpful when it came to discussing the details of our event, and had suggestions for how to make our ideas even better. Once we decided to book, our date was available and we made a deposit. The planning process was so easy and enjoyable. They a custom menu as far as what you might want to do yourself and what they are willing to do to help you with your event. We did all of our own set up, but it was comforting to know that I could call on them for help if need be. They were able to suggest a few local caterers which was extremely helpful. The day of the event we paid our final balance, and came early to set up our event. We got nothing but RAVE REVIEWS from our guests and the unique space was perfect for our intimate shower. The existing decor was so special, and lended itself well to our theme. While we did bring our own decorations, let it be known that you can just simply walk in the day of the event with nothing but the guests and have a wonderful party. The front parlor room was used for our food, the photobooth area held our guest sign in and our diaper raffle drop, the main room in the rear held our guests and gifts. The stage is a perfect place for a Mom to be to open her gifts with a great view for all guests to see. One of the owners, Mary, was a delight to talk with. Please don’t book any of your events at this venue! The Milk House is INFESTED with gnats and swarmed the place in the evening. I’ve never seen anything like it in my life. We had to throw away all of our food/desserts because everything was COVERED with gnats. We had to move all our guests outside since the inside was completely unmanageable! They also wouldn’t refund me my retainer fee even though I followed all the rules and directions that were on the contract I signed to book my event with them. When I emailed them back stating this they completely disregarded it and only said there is nothing they can do about the gnats. Unprofessional and SHADY!
