After reading many reviews and recommendations from yelp, Google, Facebook etc., I decided to reach out to Priscilla via her website in February 2021 to make my custom wedding dress for my wedding that is in October 2021. Priscilla responded quickly and set up a zoom meeting. She was able to text me and was very responsive. I had to reschedule, she quickly again responded and changed the zoom time to later on the same day with no problem. Due to Covid and the fact that I am one hour and a half away from Philly, this was very convenient. The meeting lasted about 30 minutes where she took my information down and all the details were than set in place. She informed me that a deposit would be needed for the sketch and sourcing of material, a total of $250. She expressed that I could send it through Venmo, and once the deposit was made she could move onto the next step. We then set another meeting up for a couple weeks later to go over the sketch and materials. Priscilla contacted me a couple days before The second zoom meeting to follow up about The deposit and I immediately sent it to which she responded that she had received it. This is where the mess begins. At the time of our second meeting in the beginning of April, I had no information or a link for it. I reached out to Priscilla at the time of the meeting which she did not answer. I tried to call, again no answer. I texted saying that she can just contact me whenever she got my message. Let’s just say this became a one-way conversation from that point on. There were many messages I sent to try to see what was going on, which were “Read,” as we both have iPhones. She finally got back to me two weeks later saying that she had to leave her studio in Philadelphia and she was working from home, she said that she had a breakdown etc. I get it, life happens. But I also understand what it’s like to have your own business and to least respond to your customer.. I am a very understanding person so I said this exact thing to Priscilla, and I said I was just concerned about the lack of communication. She apologized sincerely and essentially we were able to set up another meeting, however it would not be for another couple weeks that she would be able to have it, “May 7 or after” were her exact words. She set up a meeting and sent an email verification for May 7 at 11 AM. However before this, I again expressed that I was afraid to be losing so much time to make my custom dress for my wedding that is now going to be five months away. I have talked to other dress makers before Priscilla and they had all told me it would take anywhere from 10 to 8 months for a full wedding gown to be made from scratch. So May 7 comes around and again the same thing happened again. I call, I text, I told her that I was ready to have the meeting and to call me as soon as possible or message. No answer. I tried to call one more time almost an hour later with no answer. I texted many times after in the following weeks to tell her that I would like my deposit back, that she never said was nonrefundable, and to stop wasting my time essentially because now I have an even shorter amount of time to find someone else to make my dress. Again my messages were read, with no answers via text or phone. I requested my money a couple times back via Venmo since that’s how I sent it in the first place, they have all been ignored as well. I called my bank and Venmo to see what I could do, they have recommended to call my local law enforcement agency, which I will now be pursuing. Once I started discussing trying to get my money back, my messages were conveniently not “read“ anymore, just “delivered” I did have a budget of $3000 for this dress, and I am not concerned about $250, however I am a big believer in doing what’s right, having morals and the principle of the situation is what I am most concerned with. I also have many messages with time stamps and dates to prove what has been happening since the end of February. Do not hire Priscilla Couture! Scammed and I would leave 0...
Read moreThis place is poorly operated by unprofessional staff. Very bad customer service. I gave them 2 very fair chances, but they lost a good customer by canceling my appointment two (2) times, at the last minute. My initial appointment was for my wedding gown alteration and despite being scheduled 4 months in advance, they put someone else in my spot and called a week prior to my appointment, asking me to come in at 12pm instead of 9am. I was unable to make the change, as I already reserved the time months in advance and have a very rigid schedule. I called them back, despite the bad review I'd read and initial gut feeling I had after the first cancelation. Once again, my time was wasted, but this time I get a TEXT message canceling my appointment only a mere 7 minutes before the start time of my scheduled appointment. The staff member tells me they can't come in place of the designer who has an emergency, because they are busy setting up their newer store. It's a wonder they even have a new store opening with this type of unprofessionalism and repeated poor customer service!!! I called 'Medula's' in Chestnut Hill (top of the Mall) and she took me RIGHT AWAY NO WAITING, CANCELING, GAME PLAYING, TEXT MESSAGES, OR EXCUSES!!! Plus Medula does EXCELLENT WORK and is knowledgeable, experienced, neat, and reasonably priced!!!! I highly suggest her or someone more experienced and customer oriented for the handling of your gowns, ladies and gents. Save yourself the headache and wasted time. You have...
Read morePriscilla is absolutely wonderful! Not only is she a caring person, but she is amazingly talented! My daughter found her accidentally when trying to locate a seamstress to make her veil. Priscilla took the lace from my veil and placed it on the veil she made for my daughter - something "old". The veil was beautiful - exactly what we wanted! Also, it was custom made and much more reasonably priced than any veil we could have purchased through a bridal salon. Then, we found ourselves in an emergency situation the Thursday before the Saturday wedding. The seamstress, at the bridal salon where we purchased my daughter's wedding gown, could not make the gown fit my daughter properly, even after four fittings. The seamstress refused to do any more alterations saying it was not possible due to all the illusion and lace on the sides and back. We called Priscilla from the salon in a panic and she fit us in that day. Priscilla was confident she could fix the gown and we trusted her. Within less than 24 hours, Priscilla altered the wedding gown and it was PERFECT! It fit beautifully! Priscilla is AMAZING! Also, she cared enough to press out the seams on the gown so it laid smoothly, although it had been steamed before our visit to her. If we had known about Priscilla early on, we would have gone to her for alterations from the start, or even considered having her make the wedding gown. We would highly recommend Priscilla to any person that wants a custom made dress/gown or needs...
