My family was visiting the Sunflower fields today (10/10/2016). My 5 yr old daughter picked up a small pumpkin on the ground and was accused of stealing. A gentleman named Marc was swearing at my wife in front of my children saying "what kind of person are you to steal in front of your kid." He told us never to come back. We had no intention of stealing your pumpkin, Marc. And there was certainly no way to act the way you did. We offered to pay for our mistake, but that did not placate you. Instead it made you feel better to berate my wife and swear in front of my kids. Sorry for an honest mistake. I didn't realize you spread purchasable merchandise throughout your free sunflower fields. You told us never to come back, and you won't have to worry about that. The lesson my daughter learned today was that some people are just massive jerks and would rather assume and accuse rather than take two seconds figure out what happened. It sounds to me that if stealing is such a problem at your establishment that you just assume everyone is stealing from you, than your merchandise is either in the wrong place (at a free sunflower picking field) or not clearly marked for sale. Thank you for ruining an otherwise fun morning for my children.

Don't worry we will never be coming back,

Nate W.

Update (10/10/2016)....the mans name is Ben, not Marc. Ben returned my call and explained to me what he saw from his percpective. It does not match my wife's side of the story. Of course he says I would believe my wife, which I do. It's a "he said she said" argument at this point. The phone call left me extremely angry, (I had to calm down and call back) as it's not easy having someone accuse my wife of stealing. Ben, I think we agree: You don't want us to come back, and based on what you think you saw, we never...

My husband surprised me by taking me to what I think is the largest field of sunflowers I have ever been to! The shop is nothing to shout about, it's a very specific aestetic that I do not fancy, but to each their own. I was here for the fields and fields of sunflowers! Such variety, and the endlessness made it feel like a fairy tale! They do not supply buckets ot trimmers, though you can purchase those at the shop. When I visited they had an info table with cans and cans of off bug spray. I'm usually an insect favorite so I took a bath in that stuff real quick and still got bit up. If insects like you I'd recommend some bug spray. Also, wear some shoes you don't mind getting dirty. Parts of the field can be a little soggy, but...

What a fun place to take the family. We ran out of time to take a ride in the wagon but really had a blast picking free sunflowers while checking out pumpkins and hours we wanted to buy for the season. There are some neat photo opportunities on the grounds. The gift shop was very cute with numerous hours crafts to cover all seasons. BUT: be ready for the sticker shock. Due to the complexity and time needed for the work required to produce such beautiful work you will pay a premium... Just remember the items are not coming from China via Walmart-Mart. Rumor has it that there are pretty sweet veteran deals so check that out if you are a vet and thank you for...

New to shop and classroom. Shop had expansive inventory of crafts, country collectibles, decor, etc. Staff at the register were helpful and friendly in assisting me to find things I had mistakenly omitted for project. When taking class, however, our table of seven had an empty TACKY glue. When asking class instructor for more it was embarrassing for all of us to have staff person imply people were 'stealing it." She did so quite loudly so everyone could hear. Why would we spend over $100 between 2 of us and then steal a $1.25 bottle of glue you can get at Dollar Tree!!?? Not sure, but thinking all future gourd crafts can be done from home.
