Doreen is a wonderful woman who truly cares about her animals in this sanctuary. I honestly don’t even know where to begin. She helped my mother by taking in her dog because she was no longer well enough to care for her. From the moment Phoebe arrived there, the staff and volunteers went above and beyond to make her feel at home. (I emailed often for updates). Sadly Phoebes health took a turn for the worst and her stay was cut short at the sanctuary. When Phoebe passed Doreen was thoughtful enough to get the ashes for my mom and also her paw prints for her to have as keepsakes. I was trying to get my 7 year old black Labrador in there to get a new home but I got a email they can't as they are backed up for months with finding a homes for the elderly dogs. I have sarcoidosis Disease and asthma. It's hard to walk Bear so I wanted a better home for him. I was shocked they couldn't even give me another place. They said good luck. Well then....... I was just shocked. I never got that treatment. I'm putting the 9 year old cat in a home. It's too much for me to have a zoo. But I'll now keep Bear until he dies.
