I stopped for fresh produce as I always try to go to the smaller, and locally owned produce stands and markets. This was a mistake. The selection was tiny and limited. I got a watermelon, cantaloupe, two peaches, a small box of strawberries and two tomatoes. The sticker shock was...well, it was shocking. Almost $38! The cantaloupe, strawbs and peaches were good, the tomatoes were white-walled and not tasty, he "seedless" watermelon was actually full of seeds and not very tasty. I cannot blame the retailer for uneven quality of fresh produce that can fluctuate from day to day and individual item to another item. I will say that the prices were REALLY high and I should have just walked out, and their exorbitant prices were confirmed a mile down the road and ten minutes later at Acme, and again where I normally shop at a produce store in Somers Pt where I fill up a large bag of produce regularly and usually for under $15.
