Craftech did a reasonable job with removing moisture from the walls and floor, where the water had leaked from 2 furnace heating pipes that burst in the walls at either end of my home. My issues were primarily with one member of the CT team, who, despite my request that he discuss everything they planned to do with me FIRST, before they proceeded to do any work, wanted to aggressively rip out walls and ceilings, and custom molding, far beyond what was necessary, and in a manner that made the sheetrock and molding replacement far more costly than logic might have suggested. In the first day, upon arrival, he abruptly announced that he was going to tear up and remove the large WtW carpet in the living room, which had soaked up moisture from the leaking pipes (that had already been shut off, and was on top of a composition floor, treated with 2 coats of epoxy. In my mind, it was more important to focus on drying and protecting the hardwood floors first, particularly in my office where much of the water (and antifreeze) had leaked ! At the time there was a team of plumbers working feverously to replace the burst pipes and restore heat to the bedrooms as soon as possible, That Week, as the temperatures were under 10F at night ! I indicated that it was senseless to try to remove the carpet until the weather was.warmer as it would require removing all the furniture from the LR in very cold weather, with snow on the ground, while the plumbers were busy opening up walls and replacing pipes to restore heat to the second floor, which was the Highest Priority at that point, before more pipes burst ! I had hired a Painter who was immediately available to work with the plumbers in opening up walls on both floors, and had to ask the CT employee to focus on drying the floors to start, and let the plumbers be able to get the pipes fixed, and heat restored which Gervais had agreed to complete by Friday evening (which ultimately required 7 of their team working overtime, as one of the Hydro-Air heat exchangers had frozen up.
My worst concern about CT was the manner that they cut open the sheetrock in the ceilings, cutting through open areas between studs vs. Cutting more carefully down the center of the studs leaving a surface for the replacement sheetrock to be attached to. This total lack of Common Sense left the painters no choice but to either cut the sheetrock back to the studs or to install support boards to attach the new sheetrock, before plastering and painting, etc. To make matters worse, this individual removed a large amount of custom molding (base, chairail, and multil-layer Crown molding) which CT took away on the following day without asking me ! When I called to ask if they might still have the molding, they indicated that their dumpster had already been replaced and 'not to worry as the insurance company would Pay to replace it' (assuming I can find a carpenter to cut, paint, and install suitable replacement molding !)
Ironically CT had noted that the.molding on the other side of these walls had split away from the walls, yet did nothing to fix that situation! If I were to use CT again I would require a written agreement and understanding regarding the work to be performed and materials removed etc. I will say, howevet, that they did a good job of cleaning up when they...

Read moreI recently flooded, and I contacted a few places. But when they came in they were immediately ready to cut walls and do the most in reconstruction right off. Craftech came out and said would first try to dry things out with out cutting the walls. So they removed base board's and lifted paneling away from the wall. After several days with the drying equipment we were dried out. With minimal reconstruction as possible. We had to replace all flooring but the walls did not need to be cut at all.
Craftech goal was not to come in n tear everything out, thier goal was to dry us out and only take out what was needed. Had the walls not dry out they would have done minimal cuts to start. I am very pleased with thier work. I am very pleased with thier honesty and professionalism as well. And thier prices were very reasonable. Also when I spoke to my insurance company they were pleased with who I picked. They have worked with craftech in the past and trust what they say needs to be done with out question, because their goal is not to come in and immediately cut walls etc.
We are now dried and we can begin the process of redoing our floors.
I highly recommend them and if I should ever need this service again they will be the company...
