Read moreI noticed most of the negative reviews saying that people waited "five hours" are coming from people affiliated with other rival haunted attractions in the area. Nobody was attacked with cheese, the DJ isn't grooming people, and the suggestion that standing in line is better than a system that lets you sit down, eat, or enjoy music is better is just silly. Here's my tips: 1) Fridays are a shorter wait. 2) the busiest nights are the ones in mid to late October. It is best to get there an hour before sunset and buy tickets. The suggestion that people do this and are there for hours is just plain not true. 3) If you are looking for over the top, scary/gory/mess you up for life, this isn't going to be hat spot - but, it will take you about 45 minutes to an hour to go thru the attraction itself, not counting the pre party and bus ride to the top of the hill. 4) check the weather, they clearly state there are no refunds, so dress appropriately and if it looks like it might rain, bring a pancho or an umbrella. 5) this isn't a pumpkin patch for little kids, some themes are for mature audiences, at least teen agers. 6) please notice the huge number of people who have commented and had a great time versus the handful who are trolling the page for whatever reason. Most of the one star reviews are completely fabricated and if you look up who left them some aren't even from 1000 miles from being close to Bonnieville, Kentucky. 7) If you haven't been to Hill of Terror, come check it out for yourself. If you come on a peak night, there will be a long wait. Dance with the DJ, have dinner from the food truck, or charge up your phone and watch a movie. I'd suggest you come early. and finally 8) the owners are good people who work hard to make a fun thing happen every year, if you have a great time, I'd ask you to consider leaving a fair, honest review to offset the weirdos who left hateful comments just to be funny or to drive people to their similar sites. I've been contracted to play their music for a dozen years now, and I do not see these nonsensical claims people are making. Plus, anyone who says they were there at the opening and still there after midnight is just plain...
Read moreProbably one of the worst haunted places Iâve been to! To explain, me and my boyfriend went at the beginning of the month. We drove over an hour to visit because we had heard some cool stuff about Hill of Terror. Specifically about the rave & the little setups for food & drink. Could even get your face painted if you wanted. That was probably the only good part of the haunt was the rave but the mixing of the music was awful too. It took over an hour to wait to go into the haunt but once we had gotten in we had to wait another twenty minutes to actually go into the haunt. As far as the haunt they had a lot of decent props! Although I donât think a good majority worked. As far as the actors, there wasnât a lot and they werenât even scaring people. At most some were sitting down making casual conversation with the guests. How is this even considered a haunt?? When the actors worked as much as the props which isnât much at all. I get that itâs volunteer work but there is no effort being given by any of the actors. I wasnât scared, at most I was bored and was ready to go home before I even entered the haunt itself. If I had to suggest a place it would be Skeletons Lair where actors are much more professional and actually scare you despite the long lines! Itâs definitely a line I would rather wait in than go to Hill of Terror for Mediocre Scares. I would also like to note that a group of people that worked at hill of terror decided to stop by Skeletons lair to basically bad mouth the haunt the entire time they visited. It shows the kind of people that work for this place and how they donât care what they say or do to bring other haunts down. Theyâve even gone as far as deleting comments, reviews and blocking people because of the bad reviews theyâve been receiving. This is just a place I would never want to come back to because of their negativity and how they present themselves to people and at other haunts like Skeletons Lair or even Ravens Cross.
I wouldnât be surprised if this review also got removed so be safe out there guys. Hill of Terror is not the place to go if you want to have fun...
