Dollar General — Local services in Valdosta

This is the New store on hwy 84, there's only one cashier in there that is always sweet and polite, the rest always seem miserable, and I always forget that I can't get service inside the store and forget to do my coupons before I get there so I always loose out now that most of the$5 of coupons are digital and not on the receipts alot anymore, I do give the store a thumbs up for being clean and organize which is very unusual for most DG store's but time will tell with this being a new store, just need more pleasant sales ppl and I can tell you the cashier that is always a pleasure to see is Kia and I hope that she gets promoted, because she's always polite, helpful and a pleasure to deal with even under stressful circumstances that I've seen and I think she has great management skills for your company, coming from a retired retail store manager, look and follow this young lady closely she would be a great asset to your company if promoted onto management, now just curious to see how this new store does, just moved from the other side of town to this side and used to go into the store on 41 which lines always crazy and miss Ms Kathy she was terrific and even though we lived in lake Park@ the time I hated going into the Lake Park store, even under new management it's still a mess, the best 2 DG store's to shop@ our this New one on hwy 84 and always liked the troupville store always clean organized and everyone is usually always pleasant and the manager is...

The older lady that I assume is the “manager” is very rude. Profiles people. Refused to take my money because of a dollar bill I used was worn, said it was counterfeit. I tried buying a 3$ pack of cigarettes … like come on. When I willingly handed my ID that she did not ask for she asked why my hand was shaking, like it was any of her business, and asked “was I nervous?” Told me to fill the dollar bill that it was counterfeited and that I put it in the middle between the other 2 bills to trick her. Alls while the pack of cigarettes is already in my pocket before she even tendered the money. Never asked me For any other form of Payment …. I just gave them back and told her to take them back. She also asked where I got the bill from , I said my grandmother… she then says to me that “everybody says it comes from their grandmother or the bank, did I know that?” If you like getting embarrassed, and profiled then this is the store for you. This place is very convenient to the proximity of my home. It's usually pretty clean and organized. Sometimes not. The older little short white guy that stocks the shelves is super helpful. Can't say that about the female employees in there. In my experience they haven't been very helpful. More concerned about standing up and gossiping and talking about when they're going to take their next break then helping customers. The heavy-set manager is always nice and friendly...
