So I have a crazy back story of how I got the wake park since I'm from Virginia! Long story short that was the first day I got to meet my half brother and it happened to be on my birthday! So on our way back from the airport we stopped by to do some "water dancing" which was a first for me! It took me a while to catch on but the instructors were the most patient people I've meet. Even the other boarders were cheering me on telling me not to give up and finally after a long time of wiping out right off the dock I made it and the people on the dock and people watching from the shop cheered me on. They were not clapping because I did something cool but because they were proud that I made it up and around the park and I didn't quit! First impression of this place is an 11 out of 10 I couldn't have asked for a better staff. And they did their best to make sure I made it up. Totally recommend this place to all skill levels brand new like me or professional which I got to meet a few as well! The memories I made here are going to the bank for a long time! My family has been going to VWC for over five years and we have always had an awesome experience. My kids started when they were 5 and each of them popped up no problem on the short cable, graduating eventually to the big cable. We’ve introduced a lot of friends and family to VWC and they’ve all had the same experiences and loved it. The guys that work there are all top notch people (and incredible boarders). Always willing to give advice on how to do a trick, what you can safely try next, or even give a helpful push off the dock for a youngster. And always looking out for the safety of the riders. I meet people there that have been to other wake parks and they tell me the differences are the size of the facility, the amount of ramps/rails, and of course the friendliness of the people. This place is an amazing, truly a world class facility. My son had a beginner lesson with Lisa before quickly moving onto the full cable. Not only was Lisa willing to meet ahead of their normal opening time to accommodate our schedule, she is an excellent teacher. Her instructions were clear and concise, she was positive and affirmative.
