I've played this course many times over the last 15 years. Last week I played it for the first time this year and then again today. The fairways have a lot of dead spots and a considerable amount of crab grass. The roughs are almost entirely crab grass. Many tee boxes are dirt and weeds. This is the worst shape I've ever seen this course in. The grass on the greens is so thin you can see the ground everywhere. Additionally, they have the greens cut so short, it's impossible to judge the speed because they are so fast. They've also been over watered to the point where a lot of the water has run off around the edges of the green making it a mud ring around the green. If an approach shot doesn't come in high and hit on the green, it has no chance of holding the green, resulting in the ball rolling off the back every time. Many areas have overgrown trees blocking most or all of the fairway (e.g. #2 & #18) or green (e.g. #16 & #17). This course used to be in great shape. It's sad to see it deteriorated like this. Also, they don't allow you to make a tee time, which means you might have to wait a while (75 minutes last week) to tee off. The pro shop is nice as well as the peppy carts. Also the GPS range finder and scoring on the...
Read morePlayed there on the 13th of Sept. this year and was very disappointed in the course. Have played here several times in the past 2 years and really like the course and the layout, but it was it very bad shape that day. Travel from Indy and wasn't even worth the money that day. Rain had been an issue earlier in the past few weeks I assume but the fairways were really bad. Out of 18 holes I think I only hit from grass approx. 6 times, the rest being from dirt, and that was the fairways. Maybe next year I'll make...
Read moreAn Army friend and I played there Thursday, and the greens were in excellent shape. The fairways were good even after all the rain this area has been getting lately. They have treated them and were coming along great. I just wish I knew what the used to kill the crabgrass as I need some to treat my 5 acres. We will...
