Taylor Morrison homes are built to Florida code, so the exterior is solid. The roof isn’t going to fly off, the house won’t fall over. Unfortunately, they cut corners- as all builders do. And ultimately, the entire house quality comes down to which subcontractor they hired the day your specific house was built.
I live in a 10 year old Taylor Morrison home and the build quality originally is overall disappointing. It is a running discussion in our neighborhood, as common as talking about the weather. Here’s a list: Hollow doors Cheap cabinets without slow closing No installed toilet paper holders or towel holders Electrical fuses blowing Absolute cheapest windows installed possible. Most glass has lost its seal. Cheap vinyl warps and breaks. Broken garage door springs Very poorly installed French drains that actual make drainage worse Microwave, fridge and other appliances failing Poor design decisions No accents walls, crown moulding, Trey ceilings as baseline Compactly placed homes with minimal ability for excavators or other construction tools to access the back yard. Lack of shelving in garage Cheap plastic shelving in closets and pantry Exterior stucco issues
This all being said- I would consider rebuying a used Taylor Morrison home because many of these items would have been fixed by the original purchasers. At this point the home has started to feel quite put together, and the new neighbors moving in have far less complaints than the original buyers. Lots of short cuts and poor quality construction discovered during lease.
Shook hands with TM reps where they said they’d stand by their homes for owners or us leasing . Home didn’t get looked after initial water intrusion ticket for over 2 months later and didn’t start to get fixed until 6 months later . They didn’t do anything to take care of us in our displacement , medical costs due to our family getting sick with mold or loss of our homes contents ( furniture & clothing etc)
Also notice they didn’t welcome response to a email address, to bring resolution on my review ? Will they do what’s right?
