North Fork Wolf Creek Public Range — Local services in Vernonia

This was a nice spot to go and shoot at! There are 4 different lanes, two of which have a split that allows there to be two groups. The other two (the first on the road) are a bit smaller and would fit one group comfortably. Each lane has a sign showing distance and rules, which was nice as a first time visitor. You’ll definitely need to go early if you don’t want to wait for a spot to open up or share a lane! I go on weekday evenings and it's usually not bad. it would be nice if the barrier rocks were just a tad farther back so one could park nose in. you could probably fit two cars in that way and be able to turn around easier. as is I have to drive all the way up to the third range to...

I went in early December. The drive up there from Portland was nice. Where they have the new lanes the hill is pretty steep and I wasn't able to get my small sedan up there.
