Wow! I just can't say enough about how good the mini donuts and Apple Cider Slushies are! A few years ago, on a cold day after work, the smell of mini donuts was in the air. The North Star Donuts truck was set up near my house. I knew mini donuts were in Bruce's future! Now, for all who know me, it is well known that I haven't met a slushie I don't like! The apple cider slushie does not disappoint! Ever since, I have followed North Star Donuts on Facebook & can tell you when they are at Gertens and the UofM Apple House, it's a exciting time! There, you will find fresh apples, and market filled with apple everything! It was Bruce's 1st time trying the slushi & he approved! He even mentioned the mini donuts are bigger then others he's had! Thursdays are our date night & we planned to see a movie & dinner but I added 1 more stop & that was the North Star Donut Truck close to our home.

Folks, please support this small business either at the truck locations or at the UofM Apple House. Follow them on socials so you can be notified of upcoming events. These kind folks are super friendly and bonus! They give back to the communities they serve.

So many incredible products available for purchase. My only gripes at all were, it was very busy and there wasn't much available for parking. But they can't really help it if they are more popular than they usually are. And then they had so many kinds of apples available and while the displays were labeled, the bags of apples themselves were not. So once we put the bags in our baskets, if they looked at all similar, we started having trouble remembering which ones were which. I knew I wouldn't remember by the time I got home, so I asked the cashier (who was very helpful and accommodating) for a pen or marker so I could label the bags myself. Then we took pictures of the signs so we could share the story of the apple as we were sharing them at home. Overall, 100% recommend going at least once. You're going to find something that you love. The biggest problem, is trying to figure out how much you need to purchase to satisfy yourself until your next visit. The Northstar donut truck was the icing on the cake for the visit. I love the Apple House! Every thing is wonderful about this place. It is run by kind and helpful people, the items for sale are unique and fabulous for a Foodie who loves fall’s bounty. They are beneficiaries of the Aboretum and that University of Minnesota’s talent for creating new apple varieties such as First Kiss, Honey Crisp, Sweet Tango, Zestar and many others. They also benefit from the incredibly delicious grapes, also grown right there. The squash is also wonderful as well as the pumpkins. A delight to visit and to stock up on this year’s harvest.
