United States Postal Service — Local services in Victorville

Very unprofessional. My boyfriends mail is going to someone else's address. We went there to tell them a little over a month ago. When we noticed our insurance paperwork hadnt cone to our new adress yet... we Talked to post master (who was finishing up his pizza from a pizza party in the back we were told by a worker when it took him over 15 minutes to come from the back to help us) he said he would cancel the previous tenants forward to new address because my boyfriend has same LAST NAME of people who lived there in the past. WHEN THEY MOVED OUT THEY DID A BLANKET LAST NAME FORWARD TO THEIR NEW ADDRESS.. My bf works out of town so we did this all on a day he took off...he and i went to dmv.. and then we went to the post office. Because we realized we knew we were missing mail...etc. again. He said he would take care of it......so now a month later the people (previous tenants(living at the forwarding address) brought us my bf id that we were waiting on from dmv that we hadn't gotten yet...at this point we were concerned maybe it was forwarded from dmv and the new updated insurance mail again possibly went to that address as well..(when we called the insurance company they informed us they got a notice of foward for him going to the new address so they changed the address on his paperwork then sent It again because they got it back...(they put it as no forward) I brought all the evidence with me and showed the clerk. She went in the back came back out with another woman. Was told by this new woman...(who claims the post master said yes before but I'm the one here now "youre talking to me not him"..) ..she claimed he (my bf) needs to come back in and speak to HER... I said I'm telling you here's everything all the documents.... even if you cant take my word for it you'll see in the system the post master approved a forward mail cancelation. She said and i quote "i just talked to him ...he approved it that day but is declining today.".....I'm like what?? If he had canceled the forward how can you decline to do a Forward CANCEL TODAY?????? So BASICALLY you didnt do your administrative paperwork so now my bf has to take time off work again to come here. HE COMES HOME ONLY ON WEEKENDS He works in lahabra at 9am all the way from victorville. HE LEAVES AT 6AM ON MONDAY MORNINGS FOR THE WEEK...That drive is 2 hours in the morning weekdays. IF YOU ARE LUCKY...So because they FAILED TO DO THEIR DUE DILLAGANCE AS FEDERAL WORKERS AND ARE ALLOWING SOMEONES FEDERAL MAIL TO GO TO THE WRONG ADDRESS ...he has to miss half a days Pay to come in again for a 10 minute talk...let's not forget the first time he was there we waited about 20 minutes until the post master finished eating pizza from a pizza party before helping us...I should OF known from that ACTION....that he is unprofessional AND LACKS PROFESSIONALISM and that he prob wouldn't HAVE BEEN responsible enough to cancel the mail forward LIKE HE SAID HE WOULD....And shame on the other woman WHO SPOKE TO ME as well for her insinuation that we can't take your word for it because maybe you had a fight or something and now something has changed since then and that's why he needs to come in... ARE YOU KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!! Who says something like that.......COMPLETE unprofessionalism all the way around..these people are in charge of this post office....you are federal workers who are responsible for very important things. WE JUST MOVED HERE. We have VEHICLE titles....CALIFORNIA STATE id's!!! insurance documents, W2S. TAX DOCUMENTS!!! AND ALL KINDS OF OTHER THINGS coming here. We went there for thos issue to be fixed and its not......WHOS FAULT IS THAT?????????????????????? WHOS GOING TO FIGURE OUT WHERE OUR TITLES GO FOR OUR CARS ETC .....ARE THEY?????Step up your professionalism. Take your job more seriously...Because better belive I am...

PRIVATIZE THE POST OFFICE. THEIR SERVICE AND UNCARING ATTITUDE HAS TO END. All one has to do is look at the nationwide postal employee protests to see how screwed up the postal service is. The supervisors are disrespectful and bullies , they are severly understaffed and cant retain new hires. They pay same as an Amazon driver but work ten times as hard. It takes about ten years to make full time status. Every new hire is part time. The Victorvill post office is severely understaffed and they lose new employees alot. For the work and responsibilities they are required to do, they are severely underpaid. They are entrusted to safekeeping and deliver citizens most trusted mail while getting paid a little more than an Amazon driver. Their average pay is 18 to 19 dollars an hour. That is horrible compared to other jobs. An unarmed security guard makes 16 to 17 bucks an hour. They receive limited training then are expected to perform difficult complicated routes and practice safe driving in vehicles that are falling apart. Management works the carriers and clerks like dogs while they sit in their air conditioned offices. Then fire new hires who cant perform after receiving very poor training. Fast hard working carriers are abused and forced to deliver many routes and assist slower carriers, while the lazy carriers are allowed to milk their work. With the severe staffing shortages they have they dont even try to retain employees through enhanced training and creating a positive work environment. Ask any employee about the toxic treatment they receive from supervisors and the post master. During the pandemic, they were not even paid essential worker pay. They got no extra pay, yet they were still expected to work. No mask requirements. No precautions. Our son got Covid and brought it home to the rest of the family. This is how much they cared for their workers. Management disrespects and laughs at employees when they ask for help. The toxic attitude makes working there terrible for rhe low pay. All new hires are part time. It takes 5 to 10 years to get moved into a full time position, depending on the position and post office location. They dont tell that to new hires. Yet part timers are required to work full time hours. The part time city and rural carriers arent even given uniforms. They are required to buy their own or wear their own clothes. What kind of large scale government funded company does that. The double tiered employee pay scale has part timers doing the same work and more for half the pay as long time carriers. The jealousy and resentment among employees contributes to the ugly working environment. If you want to be an underpaid employee badgered by supervisors who have their position only because they kissed some butt to be appointed to it, then this is the place for you. Supervisors arent tested for their position .

If Louis Dejoy really wants to improve the Postal Service he needs to improve their training and pay. There was a time when a person could not get a job at the Postal Service because it was so highly desired for its pay and benefits. Now, they can't fill positions or keep new hires, who can make better pay working in a warehouse or at Amazon packing boxes. So when you don't receive your mail don't blame the carriers. Blame management for not staffing the positions. And paying living wages to a job that is severely underpaid for the responsibilities they are sworn to uphold. The Postal Service today, is nothing like it was 30 years ago. Yet they try to advertise to the public how a fun welcoming place it is to work. All one has to do is look at all of the tons of open jobs they have that they cant fill to get your answer about the place. A toxic, overworked underpaid overbearing supervisory...

They don’t follow their own posted hours! Claims they close at 5pm but it’s 2:24pm and they are closed, I can’t even get my mail from my P.O. Box! They claim on their own website that you are able to access the PO Box Monday through Friday until 7 PM. Well today is Thursday at 6:30 PM on April 17 and the doors are locked with 3 people also trying to get in . I am not able to access my PO Box at all. FOLLOW YOUR OWN HOURS! I don’t understand how this post office has not been investigated. It is an absolute mystery to me. There is a reason why their reviews are so low. No business is perfect but this post office can’t even stick to their own hours and get those right yet you’re supposed to trust in them to deliver your priced packages?! Comical.

The amount of opened mail and ruined packages I’ve had it’s insane . Clothing ruined and USPS just says oh sorry. Very rude employees, you have to wait in a very long line for package pick up and they make sure to close the doors on you exactly at closing no matter if you’ve been standing in line for 40 mins plus. Horrible customer service. I work in sales and I make sure every customer is happy to ensure they have a great experience and return, not this post office. If I had a customer that was waiting in line , I wouldn’t ever close a door in their face! So now you have to wait till Monday to get a package for pick up that could have easily fit in a keyed pick up locker but instead they hold it hostage. Mail is always half opened or missing an item and the best they can do is “file a claim online” which means nothing will happen. This place really should be investigated, there is a reason every single review is horrible for them. Nasty attitudes towards customers, not one single person smiles or is friendly, very slow response time and not enough employees on register . The line is always out the door and you’ll see one employee on the register and the others just sitting around.

Today I had a yellow pick up package slip, I missed them closing the door by 2 mins. I put my slip through the door and asked if I could please just pick up my package since it’s a gift and was already taking longer than expected in the mail and delayed. And instead the woman behind the counter said “no we are closed” and shook her head no at me. I understand closing but it’s not going out of the way it’s nothing dramatic it’s just getting a box and handing it over the counter. Treat people how you want to be treated! I’ve included my post recent ripped open mail by them and they delivered it to me with no apologies! Shame. I’ll even add photos of people at The door on a Tuesday afternoon at 2:37 PM and the doors are locked because there’s no posted signs stating that they are closing...
