Local Farmer CSA — Local services in Villa Ridge

I joined Local Farmer CSA in the fall of 2018. This is absolutely THE BEST CSA in town for the following reasons: high quality of the products, variety of products, responsiveness if there is an issue with something, the flexibility to choose my products (if you order at least $40 of product), pick up location, and the ability to easily place a hold on my box when I am on vacation.

High quality: I find that much of the produce lasts for a week, some things longer and obviously some things must be eaten sooner. It is so rare that I receive something that is not of excellent quality that I would never even complain about it.

Variety of products: The variety of fresh produce in the spring, summer, and fall are fantastic. Of course, there is less produce in the winter, but there is still enough to choose from for me to easily "build my own box". I am able to get a variety of meat, and other wonderful products that are locally produced (eggs, honey, popcorn, rice, BBQ sauce,...these are just a few of my favorites!)

Responsiveness: Occasionally an item is missing from my box. Usually my account is credited for the item. However, if it is an oversight by the person who loaded my box, all I have to do is send a quick email and the charge is removed.

Flexibility: I chose this CSA for its flexibility and I have stayed for over three years for all of the reasons listed! I love that I can pick my own stuff, and as stated above there is SO MUCH to choose from all year long! There are many locations available for pick up which is also a bonus. Something else that was unique to this CSA when I joined in 2018 is that ability to easily place a hold on your box if you will be out of town.

I would look no further and join...

I've had this CSA box for almost a year now and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. The produce is always so good and it's such a great value.

This service has been a godsend in this pandemic. There are weeks my husband and I can avoid the grocery store entirely and eat great just with Dave's box and some pantry staples. I love that it's changed the way we eat to focus on what's in-season and occasionally challenge us to do or learn something new when we get an unfamiliar item in our box. It's so helpful that Dave tells us the week before what's coming in the box too so we can start to plan meals for the following week. This CSA box could not be easier, and besides growing your own food, it's the best way to eat...

This was the best CSA option I have found for both variety of local foods offered, lower cost options available- you choose which box fits your lifestyle best, and also offering home delivery! Love that you can make selections online:) I am going to be gifting a CSA subscription to my parents, and they are excited to get started with local food delivered straight to their door! The owner is very friendly, love working with him and his farming business and think it’s great he also works with so many local farmers as well to offer such a wide variety of goods:) I recommend if you want to try a CSA, then start with this one - you will be a very happy...
